Description
My spare bedroom has a very comfy double bed, large chest of drawers and a tall cupboard.
The house is a listed building and was built in the 1830s. The shared rooms in the house are the kitchen, living room/diner, and the shower room. There is a tv with Freeview. I have WiFi but no streaming channels or subscriptions. There is a wood burning stove in the living room and central heating.
The house is situated a 20 min walk from Chippenham train station on a quiet residential street. The nearest bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. There is a Tesco Metro a 10 min walk away, along with a pharmacy, pub and community centre. In the other direction, a 15 min walk will take you to the library, climbing wall, high street shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
I live here with my dog, Harry, who is a lovely Collie cross lurcher. He is affectionate once he gets to know people but generally gives strangers a wide berth. He is not allowed upstairs. He is well exercised and stimulated and he doesn’t chew or scratch. The only evidence of him being around is a few white hairs on black clothes!
I am looking for a housemate to help with the bills and for some human company! It would be great to cook together and perhaps find other hobbies in common.
I currently work from home half the week and commute into London or Bristol the remainder of the time. I am a tidy, organised person who likes to keep on top of the housework but not obsessively. I would prefer a housemate who takes their shoes off inside the house and who tidies up after themselves in the kitchen, that kind of thing….
The house is old and lacks things like double glazing, bathroom extractor fan, kitchen extractor fan and so on, so I’d be asking my housemate to help manage that. For example, to open windows to prevent condensation building up.
This room would suit someone who works full time, likes the outdoors, is a non-smoker.
I’m open to having a housemate with a dog and we would need to meet to see how they get along before moving on with renting the room. I’m only responding to enquiries from people who have a profile on here.
