The rooms available are of good sizes (3.3m x 3.3m and 4.6m x 3.7m, not including bay window areas), with high ceilings and large bay windows. The furniture comprises a double-bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers & chair (the larger room has, additionally, a table and second chair), with an up-light too, there still being space to add one's own desk or other furniture, if required. Should it be desired, there is also one private, off-road parking space available at £10 per month.
The bedrooms are all pleasant, each being slightly different; three have basins (including the larger of the two advertised), one is particularly large etc. All are white-painted, with a light birch (and insulated) laminated flooring. The windows are large, giving lots of light. The other rooms (kitchen, living room etc.) have more colour. To allow easy cleaning, only the stairs and landing are carpeted (to help minimise noise); all other areas are either hardwood or tiled, with that in the hallway being the original. Each room has an access point for free and continuous high-speed 150Mb Virgin fibre internet use and a wireless system for the same is also in place.
The other areas of the house include living room, kitchen, shower room with toilet and a bathroom with shower & toilet, along with a small guest room that can also be used as a study. The wash basins in three of the bedrooms alleviate any pressure on the bath and shower rooms. There is a fair amount of hallway and landing areas, so the rooms are spread out, giving a reasonable degree of privacy although it doesn't feel like living completely on your own.
The kitchen is fully-equipped, with cooker, microwave, a large fridge, separate chest freezer, allocated storage cupboards, appliances & utensils. There is also a washing machine and a separate dryer, with an ironing board etc. and vacuum cleaner located in a hall cupboard.
The garden is relatively private, being surrounded by a high fence and is largely paved (having table & chairs), requiring little or no maintenance. Beyond the private service road to the rear is the county cricket ground and, beyond that, parkland with a running track.
The house (dated to 1906) has been fully but sympathetically renovated to a good standard and is legally compliant with gas, electrical and fire safety certification.
On foot, Tesco is 5 minutes away & the town centre and railway station 10 minutes. Bus access is convenient and closer still, whilst main road access is almost instant.
Based on the living room and kitchen, the house usually has a sociable (but not noisy) atmosphere so only genuine professionals need apply. The others living in the house are graduate professionals and all are pleasant and easy-going.
Those living in the house clean their own rooms and are expected to keep the communal areas (kitchen, bath/shower rooms, living room) in a reasonable state in between the cleaner's weekly visits.
I hope this gives a good idea; if you are interested, please just drop me an email or telephone and I will be happy to answer any questions and we can see if we can go from there. If accommodation is required before the date that this room becomes available, then an arrangement could be made.
One last thing: I spend a fair amount of time around trees where the 'phone signals are variable so, if you only get through to my voicemail and are happy to leave a message, I can usually get back to you as quickly as it finds its way through to my handset.
