Rooms for rent in an eco commune

Why is the rent so low? I don't want to profit off of other people, I know there is a cost-of-living crisis and inflation, I want to create a safe and welcoming home with people who want to be part of a community.

The rent includes all bills, we share and eat evening meals together and ask £50 to cover a month's meals, I'm happy to do most of the cooking if you want to help with gardening or cleaning. I'm ideally looking to live with someone who is passionate about volunteering and being involved in the community.

I currently live with a Ukrainian, 22. I’m a female scientist, mid 30s, I’m involved with the local parish council and other volunteering in the community. I have two rooms available, both are the same size and are essentially identical.

The room/home:
• A beautiful quiet private room with double bed
• The house is 4 bedrooms, has a comfy living room and a large kitchen with all amenities and safety equipment, and lots of houseplants throughout the home.
• Large garage to store any items, including bicycles etc
• Small, terraced garden with trees and grass, and a small vegetable plot (you would be welcome to grow your own food if you want) and a wildlife pond to increase biodiversity.
• Home to a cat
• Book filled home, as we are all passionate readers
• Beautiful rural location, with excellent public transport links to the centre of Swindon and Oxford by bus every 15min, so ideal if you want to live in the peaceful countryside and commute into the city. I also have a driveway if you drive a car.
• 10min walk to local farm shops and the sustainability hub, where you can obtain books, crafting materials and other items, they also run a repair café.
• This is an eco-house with solar panels, we try to minimise our consumption and recycle.
• Deposit is 1 months rent, rent is paid monthly in advance. All bills, including fibre optic broadband is included.

I’m happy to answer any of your questions and would want to meet a few times before deciding if we would be compatible to live together (this can be over Zoom if that’s more convenient).

If this advert is still up then the room is still available, I’m located in Watchfield SN6 (roughly 10 miles from Swindon) but the S6 bus is every 15min direct to Oxford and Swindon, so it's easy to commute if needed.
