Creative Looking For A Room / Flat :)

hey I’m lottie and I’m a publishing grad / writer / illustrator currently living in tooting. I am lgbtq+ friendly, pet friendly, neurodivergent friendly, alt friendly and having a beer with mates friendly <3

my tenancy ends in february, so I’m tentatively* looking for a new houseshare. I’m open to joining an established houseshare, starting a new (small) group, finding a 2 bed flat with a friend or possibly a warehouse situation. if you have a place with multiple rooms available, I have friends who will probably be looking too!

I’ve been house sharing for 5 years now. I always clean up after myself and have never missed a payment. though I need time to myself to read and draw, I’m always down for pubs, clubs, gigs, karaoke, thrifting, gaming, anything arty or a movie. I like spooky scary stuff but am the least scary person ever. I LOVE live music and DJs, and write my own music as well (so if the walls are thick that’s a plus - otherwise I don’t record in the house unless everyone’s fine with it). I don’t want to live in a ‘party every other night’ kind of place, but I love occasional house parties. a clean, respectful but also warm and ‘lived-in’ house is ideal.

I have a boyfriend of 5 years who will be visiting, but not living at the house rent free. he is chill, respectful and very funny. alternatively if there is a spacious 1 or 2 bed flat available for £1300 max (yeah I know), we might consider moving together.

I currently work part-time as a retail assistant in kingston (I come with discounts on vinyl records, as well as my own collection). I am actively looking for a more permanent full time job, so at this stage am unsure what my employment status will be in february, but I can provide references and a guarantor if needed.

since I love to paint and write, and will potentially be hybrid working, I’d like to have space for a desk and access to high-speed internet. I’m very chill about this though - I don’t need the house to be completely quiet while I’m working. a spacious double room would be ideal (I especially love attic rooms). preferably furnished (with bed & wardrobe) although I have my own chest of drawers / smaller bits & could get on fb marketplace if the rent is cheap enough.

I know than an ensuite in this price range is unrealistic, but I prefer to share a bathroom with 2 people max. I often cook and currently live in a house with a tiny kitchen, so would like to upgrade! I don’t smoke or eat red meat but am happy to live with someone who does as long as they are respectful of my fridge space. I have no allergies and I love all kinds of pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, snakes, anything that will be friends with me :)

full disclosure: I used to live up north which has given me an urge to move back there on the miraculous occasion that a job appears. for this reason I don’t really want to be locked into a very long contract (6 months is better), but again nothing is set in stone yet & I could just as easily end up with a long term job in london. I’ll probably update this closer to february lol
