Female EDI engineer searching for room to rent

I am a 35 year old aircraft engineer (17 years) that starts at EDI on Dec. 1st or round about. As my main home is located in Inverness Scotland, I am searching for a second accommodation near my job. I will work a night shift 4 on 4 off. Hence why I marked M-F because I will only be there half time but not exactly m-f as it rotates. I need a place that will allow me to sleep properly during my working days so quiet during the day. Cats I am great with. Dogs I am afraid of. On my days off, I will mostly travel home to be with my partner and cats. It would be nice also, if my partner could come visit occasionally when we want to explore the Edinburgh area to look for a new home before we sell ours, but this would not be often as she works M-F. We just are trying to figure out what to do with our home and see which areas of Edinburgh we would like to lay down roots.

I am very environmentally friendly and do not use a lot of electricity or water. I am an avid reader so a tv is not necessary. I would prefer my own little studio with ensuite, but I know that is probably like finding a needle in a haystack in Edinburgh for my budget. Preferably near train/bus links as I need to get public transport to EDI as I will not have a vehicle but possibly a bike.
