I am a 56-year-old male and have recently returned to the UK after spending 6 months in Thailand. My intention was to purchase a small business and relocate there permanently, but unfortunately things did not work out as planned, so I returned to the UK.
Please don’t let my age put you of as I am still very much young at heart and fit and healthy.
During my time away, I retained my room at my current property, where I have been a tenant since October 2025. Prior to that, I lived with my former partner at the same property for over 10 years, so I have a long history of stable tenancies
I am currently seeking employment as a Credit Controller (Brighton would be a more suitable location for easy employment), which is my primary profession and an area in which I have extensive experience. In the meantime, I am in a position to pay 3 months' rent in advance, together with the deposit, if that would provide reassurance and be acceptable to you. If I was still unemployed in 3 months, then I would be able to claim UC but to be honest I don’t believe I will need to claim
I am a relaxed, considerate and tidy person. I never go out heavy drinking but enjoy meeting friends for a quiet drink every couple of weeks, but I also I enjoy spending my evenings at home watching television, reading, or socialising with friends and housemates.
I am looking for somewhere comfortable, friendly and sociable people to live with, and I believe I would be a respectful and easy-going housemate. I would be happy to provide any further information or references you may require.
I am currently required to give one month's notice at my existing property. However, if we both feel the arrangement would be a good fit, I would be willing to forgo my final month's rent there and move in sooner if that would be helpful.
