Room Wanted / Buddy Up – Anywhere in the Uk

Hi, I’m Jack, 32, and I’m looking for a calm, friendly shared home from around 15 October.

I’m currently living in London, but I’ve reached the point where I know city life isn’t right for me anymore.

Like many people, I find that after a while the constant noise, crowds, traffic, rushing around and general intensity of city life can simply become too much. I’m looking for a change of pace and somewhere I can properly settle, establish a routine and enjoy a calmer way of living.

For that reason, I’m genuinely open to anywhere in the UK. Finding the right home and environment is much more important to me than a particular town or region.

A little about what I’m looking for:

• An LGBT-friendly household
• A small, calm and friendly household rather than a large HMO
• Somewhere quieter, ideally with countryside, nature or green space nearby
• A furnished room
• Kitchen access so I can cook and maintain a normal routine
• Reasonable access to shops and public transport
• Ideally around £400–£600 per month, preferably including bills

In terms of finances, I currently receive Universal Credit as well as additional financial support from my family. I will have funds available on 15 October to pay the appropriate deposit and first month's rent.

I would need a proper tenancy/licence agreement so I can report my housing costs to Universal Credit and arrange the appropriate ongoing housing support.

My longer-term aim is to return to work. At the moment, however, I am dealing with a health condition and my immediate priority is getting properly settled and creating some stability. I’m happy to explain my circumstances privately and openly to a potential landlord before making any commitment.

More than anything, I’m looking for somewhere that can become home rather than simply another temporary place to stay.

I’m looking for a calm, comfortable and stable base where I can establish a normal routine and get on with my life.

I’m completely open-minded about location. The right environment is much more important to me than a particular town or part of the country.
