Looking For Quiet Self-Contained Studio 🌸

notice: i am desperately seeking a self-contained studio or room where i can have my care provider support me at home. i am falling more unwell with CFS/ME and am losing mobility. my current home is not accessible for me, and my access to at-home support is restricted due to my rules of tenancy. i am currently unable to work and need a new home to rest and recover in.

hi, i'm bethany (they/them) and i'm looking for a new long-term home to move into in spring/summertime. ideally a semi-rural self-contained studio apartment around fal/truro, but would consider other areas.

i need to live in a quiet location due to my sensory issues making living on roads or in towns very stressful. i also adore living in the countryside, though need to be in walking distance of direct public transport links as i don't drive.

i have about 10 years experience renting. i am currently lodging in a lovely rural family home, but am ready to move into a space of my own where i'm not mostly limited to my bedroom; so i'm looking for an apartment with a bedroom, small living room, private kitchen and bathroom, a desk or countertop where i can comfortably work from home, and enough space for my belongings including some musical instruments. it's also important for me to be able to decorate my space with fairy lights and little wall prints, but i am happy to do so in the way that the owner approves of (i never use any fixtures, don't worry).

my line of work is in admin/social media for a local CIC – this is part time/own hours and can be done from home, so strong wifi is a must. my life vocation is songwriting, so i will be playing guitar and singing any day that i can. and my hobbies include gaming, reading and running.

i am currently – and will likely be for the foreseeable – disabled with chronic fatigue, so will need to live somewhere that is okay for me to be at home most, if not all, the time. i am also autistic and generally need a lot of time at home to myself. when i'm able to, i do like going out for days out or to gigs in the evenings, and take little trips away every few months for gigs and to see long-distance friends. additionally, i'd love to be allowed to have individual friends visit semi-regularly.

due to being disabled currently and unable to work much or at all, i am receiving benefits to keep me afloat, so owner must be comfortable with rent paid with benefits for the foreseeable. i also need to live somewhere that allows my care provider to support me at-home with chores, admin and meals some days.

i am a very considerate tenant who values cleanliness and tidiness, and who respects any rules of living in someone else's property or home. despite my low income, i have always paid my rent on time.

also, i love animals, particularly cats – if you have cat in or around the property, i will absolutely bond with them and provide them with lots of company and cuddles. it would be a dream to be able to have my own cat, so if you'd allow this, i'd be so happy. i'm not as good around dogs, as they're difficult to be around due to my sensory sensitivities, but i can certainly manage and will be friendly.

tenant reference would be available from my current landlady on request. character reference also available if need be.
