Description
I'm looking for someone to share my bright, spacious 4-bedroom house (115 sqm) in a quiet village surrounded by countryside and green space. There’s plenty of room here – and plenty of storage, too!
Edzell Woods is situated halfway between Aberdeen and Dundee, just of the A90. The village is also perfectly located between the coast and mountains: some of Aberdeenshire’s most beautiful beaches are just 15 min away and Cairngorms National Park is also just 15 min away for great hillwalks.
You’ll have the choice of two bedrooms (only one will be rented):
- Downstairs annex room – with your own entrance, extra privacy, and your own showerroom downstairs.
- Upstairs garden-facing room – cosy and warmer in winter, with your bathroom right next door.
- Furniture can be agreed (minimum: double bed + chest of drawers), and thermal curtains are included.
- Extra room available as office for remote working.
- Rent includes all bills: council tax, oil, electricity, Wi-Fi, maintenance fee.
Shared spaces:
- Large, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) – extra fridge/freezer can be made available.
- Spacious living/dining room with dining table, sofa, armchairs, TV, and bookshelf.
- Small garden with a big patio and outdoor furniture.
Location:
- Quiet village with plenty of greenspace and countryside walks right on the doorstep.
- Lovely community garden where you can get involved in growing your own veg and fruit.
- Edzell and Fettercairn (small shops) nearby; Brechin and Montrose for bigger shops.
- Buses run straight from opposite the house to Brechin, Forfar and Dundee. The fast, reliable Ember bus goes straight from Brechin to Aberdeen and also to Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport. Closest train stations are Laurencekirk and Montrose.
About me:
I’m an environmental social scientist, working from home most days, researching people-nature relationships. I’m passionate about nature, rewilding, and animal welfare, and spend lots of my free-time outdoors walking my three rescue dogs (a collie and two small crossbreeds), camping, or chasing sunsets and northern lights. I’m fairly quiet, enjoy the occasional film night and love playing board games.
You:
- Must be okay with dogs.
- Pets considered.
- Shared interests would be a bonus, especially dog-walking / hiking / hillwalking.
💚 Discount on rent for vegans or anyone happy to keep the house plant-based.
This would suit someone who enjoys nature, peace and quiet, and a friendly, respectful home environment.
