Bedford is located along the river Ouse and has a beautiful embankment as well as many parks that offer great opportunities for walkers. Those with an interest in water sport can visit the Priory or Box End Park who provide sailing, paddle boarding, water skiing and other activities. There are also various golf courses (9/18 holes), and the athletic stadium is at the east side of the town.

Bedford has great train connections. The 2 train operators run around 5 trains/hour at peak times, and the Thameslink offers a rare 24hour service which means you are unlikely to get stuck in London after a long days work/socialising.. The Midland Main Line, with stopping services to London St. Pancras International offers the fastest service from 35mins+/journey. Thameslink serves Brighton via Luton Airport Parkway, London St. Pancras International and Gatwick Airport.
