The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac near Kentwood Hill and 10 minutes walk from Tilehurst station. Local shops 5 minutes walk, Waitrose 10 minutes. No. 18 bus 1 min. walk, no. 16 bus, 5 mins. There is a large park behind the house with direct access from garden. Patio and small garden. Car parking space for each room.
We are a live-in family (including one child, 7 years old) in the main house, and the available rooms are in annex (called the Garrex), pictured. This includes upstairs downstairs en-suite rooms as well as a shared kitchen/dining room. There is also a small patio and garden outside the Garrex. As it's part of our family home, we are looking for people who like a bit of a family atmosphere. Our last lodger was with us for 9 years (but there's no pressure to live up to this!).
It's a nice tucked away spot with a lot of green around, and we like to cultivate good relationship with our housemates, and of course between the two in the annex will naturally see more of each other. Two friends could take the rooms, or if one comes first, they can help us choose the second housemate.
The Garrex has just had a major renovation and redecoration. The downstairs bathroom is new, as is the floor of the room. The kitchen has been tiled and renovated, with new appliances. Upstairs was already fairly new.
Everything is included in the rent, including wifi.
Room 1 (upstairs)
5.0m x 3.6. Large double bedroom with en-suite. This room has a lot of natural light and view with 2 south facing windows and 1 north facing velux. It's very spacious, and easily accommodates a desk and sitting area. There are outside steps to room, and whoever lives there does need to go out and down to the shared kitchen.
Room 2 (downstairs)
3.8 x 2.7. This is a double bedroom with en-suite. There is a double sofa-bed, and can easily be turned daily into bed/sofa, or left as a bed. There's good light, with windows on two aspects, and a green view of trees and garden. The shared kitchen is right next door. This room has been redecorated and refurbished with a new floor and new bathroom.
