Description
AVAILABLE FROM 1ST JULY
Hi everyone,
My name’s Andy and I’m looking for a new housemate to share my 2 bed home in the Windmill Hill area of Bristol. I’ve been renting the property for 7 years now and sadly my current housemate is moving out to re-locate for a new job.
The house is on a quiet, residential street and consists of a living room and kitchen/dining room downstairs, with access to a large garden which is great for summer barbecues. There are two bedrooms upstairs, along with the bathroom and a small room which we're currently using as an office/study.
The house is fully furnished and the room has a double bed, wardrobe and side table. There is free on street parking available and we have space to store bikes.
The house is less than 5 minutes walk from leafy Victoria Park, a 10-15 minute walk to the shops and pubs on North Street in Bedminster and about a 20-25 minute walk to the City Centre or Temple Meads station. There are also some good pubs and takeaways within a short walk! Lidl and ASDA are close by and there's an Aldi and Sainsburys a little further afield.
ABOUT ME
I’m 37 and work a pretty standard 9-5 as a data analyst (mostly going into the office, with the odd day working from home). In my spare time I like to cook, read, follow sport (mostly football and cricket) and go to the pub with my mates. I’m originally from the Lake District, but have been living in Bristol since 2015 and have been lucky to rent with some lovely people. Hopefully you’ll be the next one!
My only stipulation is that you be a non-smoker and unfortunately the tenancy agreement doesn’t allow pets (but you might get away with a goldfish!). Other than that, I’m pretty easy going! Like most people I suppose, I like to keep the place relatively clean and tidy and am looking for someone who will be respectful of the house. I’ve become good mates with a lot of my housemates and am looking for someone who I’ll get on with, but at the same time I appreciate having my own space and am respectful of that wish in others.
COSTS AND TENANCY AGREEMENT
The rent is £664.04 per person and does not include bills (council tax band B, utilities and internet - all in £170 a month at the moment). The deposit is £736, which is paid to the agency directly. You’d become joint tenant with me on the lease for the house. We'll need to sign a new 6 month tenancy agreement together, after which we can renew for another 6 or 12 months, or switch to a monthly rolling contract. The house is managed by The Bristol Residential Letting Company, who are at the better end of the agencies I’ve dealt with in my time renting!
The room is available from the 1st July and whilst it might take a week or two to sort out the contract with the agency, I have no problem if you want to move in straight away from that date.
LIKE WHAT YOU SEE?
If you’re interested, please send me a message telling me a bit about yourself and we’ll arrange a time that works for you to have a look around. We can either do this in person, or via a video call.
Rather than show you round in 5 minutes then shoo you out the door, it’d be great to have a cup of tea and a chat so we can find out a bit more about each other before you make a decision!
