Big house on park. Looking for a male to balance

Hello!

Maria and I (Charlie) bought our beautiful terraced house on the edge of Victoria Park at the end of last year and are now looking to share it with some fun, sociable people.

We're hoping to find housemates who have their own interests and friends but also some shared interests too and would be up for spending time together occasionally. We'd be happy to cook and drink cocktails together (often Mezcalitas), head to the local pub (quiz?) or bbq in the park (if you move in before the summer ends). We want it to be a shared home which you'll feel a part of. We haven't been here long so there's still lots of opportunity to add your interesting items (if you have any) into the downstairs rooms. We've both always lived in shared houses in the past and mostly think it's great if you have the right approach.

Also worth mentioning that Maria and I are sometimes away. We often travel for work or work while travelling (about half the time). When we're away you'll have more space in the house, but you'll need to look after it too. This means we want people who will generally sort out minor issues themselves, water the house plants and keep things clean while we're gone (though we might get a cleaner if people want to chip in).

We both love travelling, adventure, going to live music/festivals, meeting new people and generally having exciting new experiences. And watching documentaries (which doesn't really fit in the list above)

Charlie's favourite things are surfing, snowboarding, basketball and cycling. I love being by the park as there's a good (for Bristol) basketball court with regular pick ups games and also a new skate park. Also amazing to go straight out the door for a walk or to watch the sunset from the hill.
If you happen to like surfing and want to drive to the beach together sometimes you'll be extra welcome ;)

Maria's favourite things are yoga, swimming (mainly in the sea), cooking delicious/interesting food, dancing and listening to music which seems to consist of either latin music (you'll probably need to be comfortable with salsa in the kitchen), psychedelic or electronic (luckily not in the house). She also speaks Portuguese and Spanish (she's from Portugal) so bonus if you do too

Our new housemate, Freya, has a small dog called Bruno. He's well behaved and doesn't really make any noise. Just mentioning as you'll probanly need to enjoy having a dog around some of the time

HOUSE THINGS

The room comes furnished with a double bed, relatively firm mattress+topper, chest of drawers and built in wardrobe.

The toilet/shower/bath is on the same floor as both rented rooms to be shared just between two. There is also another toilet downstairs which is shared between everyone.

Appliance highlights include washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer with ice maker

All bills, council and internet are included in the rent, with the caveat that the use of gas/electric should be reasonable and the unit prices stay relatively stable. i. e. if you want the temperature higher then maybe we'll need an extra contribution

There is also space in another downstairs room which can be an office. We can discuss if you'd like to use it, probably in return for buying a decent desk & chair

The house needs a bit of internal re-decorating, which we'll aim to do over time. This is unlikely to be anything too disruptive, probably just painting of the living room

We're looking to find a male as we've found a female (Freya) for the other room
