Bright, Cosy, Double Room in Bedminster

Hi! We’re a friendly professional couple living in a bright orange end-terrace Victorian home in Bedminster, a 5-minute walk from the popular North Street. We’re looking for a lodger who wants a calm, comfortable base, with great transport links and an easy walk to everything. You’d also need to be someone who is happy to live with friendly (and adorable) pets. Available from early December (flexible on move-in date).

The room is a clean, cosy double with a desk, wardrobe and super-fast WiFi (there’s a booster in the room). It’s peaceful, light, and completely pet-free — your space is out of bounds to our small calico cat, our 10-month-old Goldador puppy, and our little bunny. We hoover/clean regularly so everything stays clean and fresh.

You’ll have access to both relatively newly renovated bathrooms — a large upstairs bathroom with a bath, and a downstairs bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower. The communal spaces: a cosy living room, separate dining room, and kitchen (we have 5 hobs and 2 ovens, plus a microwave, air fryer and a dishwasher), and a cute-sized garden. Depending on the size, we do have some space for you to hang a bike up in the lean-to conservatory as well. In addition to our main fridge-freezer, we have a small spare fridge and freezer in our small cellar.

About us: We are a warm, easygoing couple working in communications and scientific comms (with one of us transitioning into social work). Maya’s from Singapore and Simon’s from Bristol. We enjoy a good chat over a shared meal, a movie night, or a boardgame now and then, but we totally respect your privacy and keep things relaxed at home.

The location is brilliant — close to Gores Marsh Park and Greville Smyth Park, with Ashton Court and the Harbourside only a short drive or cycle away. On-street parking is available (it just gets busier on Ashton Gate match days). We have great transport links into the city centre too, with several bus stops and Parson Street Station (which is a short direct train to Temple Meads) on our doorstep.

Rent is £750 per month, all bills included. We have relatively quiet days, with one of us working from home full-time, and live in a friendly, family-oriented neighbourhood, so we’re looking for someone who’s considerate and can enjoy the calm of the house (the main chaos is caused by Momo, the pup). Ideal for a working professional, or a mature or postgraduate student who keeps similar hours and values a peaceful home.
