Large en-suite room - close to whiteladies

We’re Cam and Francy, a married couple looking for a friendly professional to rent our spacious basement en-suite room in our home just off Whiteladies Road.

The room is large and private, with its own en-suite bathroom. It’s on the lower ground floor, so natural light is more limited, although there’s a light tunnel bringing in daylight. All the furniture was bought new. We’ve also fitted ventilation fans and a premium dehumidifier to keep the space comfortable year-round.

The house itself is a bit quirky and full of character, which is part of why we love it.

You’ll share the kitchen, utility and living room with us. The living room is bright and airy, and we’ve got a projector set up with Paramount+ and Amazon Prime for chilled film nights. We have the whole second floor as our bedroom and office, so there’s a nice balance between shared space and privacy.

A bit about us
Cam works in IT and Francy works in Health and Safety, travelling about once a week and otherwise working from home. Francy’s originally from Bogotá and Cam’s from Barnstaple. We moved to Bristol in September and genuinely love living here, great food, green space and a good balance of busy and relaxed. We’ve also got a very friendly golden retriever, so you’ll need to like dogs.

We’re ideally looking not just for a tenant, but for someone we get on with, someone we could grab dinner with, head to the pub with, walk the dog, or maybe play some sport together. We both have our own lives and routines, but it would be great to live with someone who feels more like a friend than just a housemate.

Who we’re looking for
A chilled, respectful professional who doesn’t work from home. No students. We’re after someone tidy, easy-going and sociable, who enjoys a calm but friendly household.

Location
The location is honestly one of the best bits. We’re just around the corner from Burra, an Australian-inspired café with seriously good breakfasts, and Wild Oats, a brilliant health food shop and bakery that does some of the best almond croissants in Bristol. There’s also a Tesco less than two minutes’ walk away for everyday essentials.

Whiteladies Road is right on the doorstep with loads of cafés, restaurants and pubs. Clifton Down station is a short walk away on the main line into Temple Meads, and the Downs are nearby if you like a run or a weekend walk.
