Description
Cosy Furnished Room in Friendly Cherry Hinton Home – £350 pcm
Welcoming, friendly and sociable house share | Female housemate preferred | Available now
We're looking for a lovely new housemate to join our relaxed, friendly home in Cherry Hinton, Cambridge.
There are currently two adults living here, and we'd love to find a third person who is looking for more than just somewhere to sleep — someone who would enjoy making this their home too.
We offer a comfortable, fully furnished house with a lovely garden, conservatory and a friendly atmosphere, where everyone can enjoy both good company and their own independence.
A little about our home
We believe a happy home is one where everyone feels comfortable, respected and able to be themselves.
We're both friendly, easy-going people who work during the day and generally enjoy relaxing in the evenings, spending time with friends or visiting our partners.
Sometimes we'll sit together for a chat, share a laugh or enjoy each other's company. Other times, we're perfectly happy doing our own thing.
There's absolutely no expectation to constantly socialise. We simply appreciate living with people who are warm, considerate, communicative and respectful of one another's space.
We enjoy occasionally having friends over for a meal or a social gathering, while also valuing a comfortable and welcoming home environment.
Your bedroom
The available room is a cosy, furnished single bedroom overlooking the back garden, with views of the trees beyond.
It comes with:
- Single bed
- Large built-in wardrobe with additional storage compartments
- Two wall-mounted shelves
- Bedside cabinet
- Desk and chair
There's a quiet railway line beyond the garden which operates during the daytime and which we rarely notice.
The house and facilities
The house is fully furnished, with shared spaces for relaxing, socialising and enjoying everyday life.
You'll have access to:
- Comfortable shared living room
- Conservatory
- Back garden
- Bathroom with an oval bath and shower
- Washing machine
- Ample fridge and freezer space
Our landlady is friendly, helpful and easy to contact whenever anything in the property needs attention.
Rent and bills
Monthly rent: £350
Approximate monthly bills: £162 per person
Estimated total: £512 per month
Water, gas, electricity and internet are shared equally between the housemates.
There's no additional council tax to pay, as this is covered by our landlady.
Family life and household arrangements
Our home also has a family-oriented side, which we'd like prospective housemates to be aware of.
One of the household members has his 6-year-old son staying every other weekend, from Friday to Sunday, as well as for additional periods during school holidays and half terms.
Creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for him is naturally very important to us.
With this in mind, we ask that housemates don't have overnight guests staying at the property during the times when he is visiting.
As an additional safeguarding precaution, we also require our new housemate to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before moving in.
We'll cover the full cost of the check, so there will be no expense to you.
These arrangements are simply part of how we maintain a safe, respectful and comfortable household, and we're looking for someone who would be happy with them.
Who we'd love to live with
More than anything, we're looking for the right person rather than simply filling the room.
A female housemate is preferred due to our family circumstances.
We'd love to find someone who is:
- Friendly, warm and considerate
- Clean and tidy in shared spaces
- Open-minded and easy to communicate with
- Respectful of other people's privacy and independence
- Comfortable with the family-oriented nature of the household
- Looking for a welcoming, friendly place to call home
We don't expect everyone to have the same interests or routines. We simply believe that kindness, communication, mutual respect and a little consideration go a long way towards making a house feel like a home.
Interested?
If this sounds like somewhere you'd enjoy living, we'd love to hear from you!
Please tell us a little about yourself, what you do, what you're looking for in a house share and when you'd ideally like to move in.
The room is available now.
We look forward to hearing from you!
