Large Double Room Available Just off Mill Road

Looking for a new housemate to join a lovely home in a two-bedroom Victorian terraced house on the town side of the railway bridge, just off Mill Road.

The room is large and spacious, and mostly unfurnished, although a bed frame, mattress and clothes rail are available if needed. If you’d prefer to bring your own furniture, the room can be left completely unfurnished.

The rest of the house is already furnished, with plenty of space to relax and make yourself at home.

* Large double bedroom at the front of the house (Bedroom 1 pictured).
* Shared family bathroom.
* Fully furnished kitchen, living room and dining room.
* Large garden with a shed, BBQ, fire pit and outdoor seating set.
* Air fryer and Nespresso machine, because the essentials matter! ☕️

📍 Location, Location, Location

We’re incredibly lucky to be surrounded by some of Mill Road’s best pubs, cafés and independent spots.

* 🍻 Pubs: The Cambridge Blue, The Alexandra and The Blue Moon are all within a five-minute walk.
* ☕️ Coffee and brunch: Plenty of fantastic cafés on our doorstep, with Hot Numbers just at the end of the road.
* 🛍️ Shopping: The Grafton Centre is around a 10-minute walk away.
* 🌳 Green space: Parker’s Piece is also around a 10-minute walk away.
* 🚶 City centre: Approximately 15–20 minutes on foot.
* 🚗 Parking: On-street parking is available, although a permit is required. This is about £80 for the year.

Essentially, everything you need is within easy reach, whether you’re after a morning coffee, a weekend brunch or a post-work pint.

💷 Rent and Bills

* Rent: £1,000 per month, including bills.
* Deposit: £920.
* Rent due: The 11th of each month.
* Bills included: Council tax, gas and electricity, water, Wi-Fi and a communal kitty for shared household essentials, such as cleaning products.

One small disclaimer: we don’t have a TV licence, so hopefully you’re not a die-hard BBC watcher! 📺

👋 A Little About Me and Who I’m Looking For

I work in the centre of Cambridge and am looking for a laid-back, friendly and considerate housemate who enjoys a relaxed home environment.

Ideally, I’m looking for another young professional, roughly aged 25- 35 who is clean, tidy and respectful of shared spaces.

I’m happy doing my own thing, but equally enjoy having a friendly chat in the kitchen and making the house feel like a home. I’m looking for someone who wants to share a home, rather than simply rent a room alongside a stranger.

My work schedule can vary, and I generally work every other weekend, with the occasional late night during the summer.

🐶 There’s also a furry addition on the horizon!

I’m planning to get a puppy in early November, so hopefully they’ll be nicely settled in by the time you move in. Dog lovers are definitely a must!

🐈 And if dogs aren’t enough, we have a neighbourhood cat situation.

There are several cats in the neighbouring houses, and one in particular, Heathcliffe, occasionally pops his head in to say hello. He seems to consider the house an extension of his own territory, so you’ll need to be comfortable with the occasional feline visitor!

A Few Things to Note

* Looking for someone interested in staying long-term, ideally a year or more.
* No couples, please.
* No smokers.
* Animal lovers are essential, given the future puppy plans and our frequent feline visitors!
