TWO DOUBLE ROOMS IN A CHARACTERFUL VICTORIAN HOME WITH GARDEN — MILL STREET, CAMBRIDGE

Hello everyone,

I am offering two double rooms in my much-loved Victorian home on Mill Street, Cambridge. The house is fully furnished and equipped, with a sunny courtyard garden and all bills included, including Council Tax (Band D).

My home is also my architectural studio, so I’m afraid working from home is not possible Monday to Friday, between 09:00–17:30. This means the house is best suited to working professionals who work away from home, or postgraduate students who spend their working day in their department, laboratory or library.

I’m looking for friendly, super-clean, tidy and responsible people who appreciate design, original features and a home with character.

THE ROOMS

Room 1 — First floor, overlooking the rear garden. £1100 pcm including all bills. 1 month’s deposit.
TAKEN from 5 September for a long-term stay. Laura is 21, soon to be 22, and a Master's graduate in Chemistry from Newcastle University. She’s moved to Cambridge for a new graduate job.

Room 2 — Ground floor, front-facing, £950 pcm including all bills. 1 month’s deposit.
AVAILABLE from 15 December 2026 at 17:00.
This is a furnished double room with a standard-double Japanese Muji bed, an Artemide Tolomeo lamp, a desk, a Habitat Alexis wardrobe/rail, plenty of shelving and cupboard space, and a blackout curtain.

This is a traditional 19th-century Victorian mid-terrace, with chimney pots, sash windows, high ceilings, original features and light-filled spaces.

• Cambridge railway station: approximately 12 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by bicycle

I’m Alejandra, a female freelance architect, born in Chile and brought up in the UK from the age of three. I studied at Cambridge and UCL, and speak English, Spanish and French.
I’m also an experienced Airbnb Superhost, with 13 years of hosting experience, a 4.88-star rating and 165 reviews from guests representing 39 nations.

I my home and garden are precious to me, and I’m hoping to find guests who will appreciate them and help keep them a lovely place to live.

WHO I AM LOOKING FOR

The house would suit a working professional or postgraduate student who is friendly, considerate, exceptionally clean and tidy, and responsible.

Before proceeding, I will need evidence of the following, as applicable:

• A reference from a previous landlord

• Visa status, if applicable
