Cosy double room in friendly Redruth home | Dec 20

We’re looking for a friendly, respectful person to rent our double room for around six months while we head off to New Zealand for the winter.

Available from 1 December 2026 until June 2027.

Ideally, we’d love to find someone looking for a proper home for the winter rather than just a short-term stay.

The room is a slightly smaller double, but it’s peaceful, cosy and gets beautiful afternoon light. We’ll completely clear the room before you move in, so you’ll have your own space to make comfortable.

The house

You’d be sharing the house with our current housemate, who is a friendly working professional and chef. We’re a relaxed household and are looking for someone similarly considerate and easy-going.

Shared spaces include:

* Kitchen with your own space in the fridge
* Dining room
* Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet
* Garden
* Driveway
* Lots of house plants 🌿
* Living room **isn't included as advertised access**, although this may be available depending on how we organise our belongings while we're away

We’ll also arrange for a cleaner to clean the communal areas, kitchen and bathroom once or twice a month, so keeping on top of the shared spaces shouldn't all fall on the housemates.

We also have two very friendly cats, Gizmo and Ozzy. They're a big part of the household and very lovely, so you’ll need to be comfortable living with cats.

Location

The house is in Redruth, close to Ava's roundabout.

* Around 2 minutes' walk to Aldi
* Around 15 minutes' walk to Redruth train station
* Easy access towards the coast, with Portreath and Porthtowan both nearby

It’s a really handy location while still feeling peaceful and homely.

Who we're looking for

Most importantly, we're looking for a nice, decent and respectful person who will treat the house as their home while we're away.

Ideally you'd be working, studying or otherwise settled, and looking for somewhere to stay throughout the winter.
