- House share £500 pcm
- Whittington

Description
I am renting out a front double-bedroom in a mid-terraced house on a quiet back road in Old Whittington.
The house has 3 bedrooms – yours would be the largest. Downstairs, there is a living room, a larger dining room, a galley kitchen, a bathroom (the only one in the house) & a narrow hallway leading to the garden area (photos to follow).
No gender preference, although having a woman here would be great in terms of my making it more likely for my nineteen-year-old daughter to want to stay over. I don't even have a problem with a boyfriend/girlfriend staying over on occasion, as long as advantages/liberties are not being taken & it’s discussed in advance.
I'm not too fussed about age, although this probably wouldn't be suitable for someone who is generally young, wild, free & loud, & wants to regularly & noisily roll in during the early hours, as I do need relative peace & quiet when I'm working on poetry or song lyrics, or I have to head into school early the next day (so headphones would be a requirement if you're planning on blasting music regularly!).
A working professional would be preferable, but you needn't be a teacher, doctor or lawyer. You just to be able to prove to me with documentary evidence that you are in stable employment (not a zero-hours contract) & that your finances are in such an order that paying your rent won't ever become an issue. I will also insist on solid references (not just a mate’s number) & ID that I would need to take a copy of – after all, one cannot be too careful in this day & age!
I’m open to a Monday-Friday deal for a discount, if that’s something that appeals or suits your circumstances. I don’t even mind if you want to use this as a 6 month stop-gap before buying a house or you’re going through a separation. I also won’t hold you to 6 months if you find that, after a few weeks, the place not to your liking, as long as you give me a month’s notice, so I can get someone else in to replace you.
I would welcome someone who is a creative soul (musicians, writers & poets particularly!), but again, this is not essential. Your politics are your own, but I won't tolerate, nor wish to live with anyone who holds &/or express radical political views or prejudices - I'm a liberal-minded, ‘live & let live’ kind of guy, & I want to live as harmoniously as possible with people & the world.
I wouldn’t ever want you to feel like a prisoner who is confined to their bedroom, & I will happily share space throughout the house, although there will be times I will need priority over the living room for some BBC iPlayer, Prime or Netflix binge-watching, or when my football team are playing. I’m not someone who crashes-out in front of the TV every night, so there’ll be plenty of share time.
One of the great things about my house is the L-shaped, private outside area – lots of potted plants & hanging baskets, solar night lights, an outside light, a bench, two sunlounges with thick cushioning, a gazebo area & a small barbecue area. If you’re someone to likes to sit outside, particularly in the evening, you should really love this aspect.
I would need you to pay 25% of the Council Tax on top of the rent, if that apples to you, as that is the surplus that I would have to pay for losing the single-person discount allowance. The Council Tax band is ‘A’.
