Would you enjoy living in a peaceful countryside home surrounded by nature, birdlife and beautiful dark skies?
Supportmatch Homeshare is looking for a kind, reliable and friendly woman to share the attractive rural home of an older lady in Simonsbath, within Exmoor National Park.

This opportunity could be particularly suitable for a mature professional, remote or hybrid worker, NHS or public-sector employee, semi-retired person, or someone who enjoys a quieter and more environmentally conscious way of life.

The accommodation
For a Homeshare service fee of just £190 per month, including household bills, the Homesharer will have:
A private double bedroom
A private en-suite shower room
Wi-Fi
Parking
Use of the shared areas of a peaceful and welcoming home
Potential access, by agreement, to a separate outside studio with a wood-burning stove
Wonderful countryside, walking routes, nature and birdlife nearby
There are currently no pets in the home, although a suitable pet may be considered depending on the circumstances.

The Homeshare arrangement;
In return for this exceptionally affordable accommodation, the Homesharer will provide approximately:
10 hours of practical help each week
Around five hours of flexible companionship
A regular and reassuring overnight presence
The support will be agreed in advance and arranged flexibly around the Homesharer’s employment, studies and other commitments. It does not need to be provided continuously or at fixed times every day.

Support may include:
Friendly conversation and companionship
Occasional help with meal preparation
Help with computing or simple administrative tasks
Light household tasks
Basic gardening or small DIY tasks, where appropriate
Occasional help with appointments, outings or local journeys
Encouragement with leisure and social activities

This is a companionship and practical-support arrangement. No personal care or nursing care is required.

About the Householder
The Householder is an intelligent and environmentally conscious lady who enjoys reading, classical music, nature, birdlife, gardening and wilding, family life and current affairs.
She has a strong interest in climate change, sustainability and eco-friendly building and has designed her home to provide a healthy, natural living environment.

Who would suit this opportunity?
We are looking for someone who is:
Kind, patient and dependable
Respectful of privacy and personal boundaries
Comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment
A non-smoker
Happy to provide companionship and agreed practical help
Able to offer some flexible daytime and evening availability
Willing to complete Supportmatch’s safeguarding and matching process
A full driving licence and your own car are essential because public transport in the area is extremely limited.
A female Homesharer is preferred. The opportunity may suit someone working in Barnstaple, South Molton, Minehead or the surrounding Exmoor area, provided they are comfortable with the journey.
