Description
Currently just putting out feelers as going to enjoy some me time before replacing housemate but with that am flexible on viewing and move-in dates.
Technical stuff first:
I’m the lead tenant with permission to sublet the room.
The £600 inc. quoted is £400 pcm for the room - spacious, furnished inc king sized bed, desk, chair, large chest of drawers and built in wardrobe; and £200 for a half share of the bills & house kitty. If there is excess from this I do refund it.
Breakdown of bills:
Council Tax band A - £135.65 (£67.83 each or if you are exempt a 25% discount leaves £33.91 instead to be made up by you).
Broadband - BT full fiber - £50 (£25 each)
Water - £60 (£30 each)
Energy - £120 (£60 each)
£15 buffer used for external window cleaner service, household cleaning products etc.
The flat:
Located a stones throw from the Barbican, all the convenience of being in the city centre. Situated on the 1st floor. There can be a bit of noise at the weekends and late night motorbikes but otherwise gets plenty of peace. Allocated parking space potentially available. On street parking requires a permit and spaces are in high demand.
The bedroom and lounge are on the south side getting plenty of light. The kitchen, bathroom & my room are on the North and much more shaded.
The photo of the room with the pink bedding and desk/chair visible is how it currently looks.
About me:
I’m friendly, amenable, helpful, communicative etc. Quite relaxed and do spend a lot of time just reading/chilling in the lounge or my room. I keep the communal spaces clean & presentable but do have a lot of stuff (am trying to thin it down) so clutter does go through cycles.
I work full time, 60% office, 40% from home.
I do some batch cooking and then rely on convenience products - I’m not a big foodie cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
I’ve lived in houseshares most of my adult life so can get along with lots of different personalities - communication is key. I tend to match energy but I can’t maintain high energy 😅
My interests include arts & craft, politics & social justice but admittedly I’m not really actively participating in any hobbies atm.
I tend to go out or go to friends to socialise but the flat is a lovely space to host in if you wanted to. On that note, I do have family abroad that I’d like to put up in the room next summer for 2 weeks - hoping for someone that might be looking for short term let & so room is vacant again by then, or doesn’t mind vacating themselves for the short period which would be compensated of course.
About you:
I’m open to anything but think a more chilled personality would prefer my vibes. Last housemate was here for 2years whilst doing a PHD & we got along very well & hope to stay friends, we’d do some social things together like theatre, cinema, dinner etc but also didn’t crowd each other.
Open to students again but again of the mature vibes - people with experience of independence, looking after a home, being responsible and accountable etc.
Someone that can stay on top of house keeping with me but also doesn’t expect high standards (ie not dirty or neat freak, normal in the middle). Favour would lean towards those of left leaning & inclusive ideologies.
