Large comfortable double en-suite room Tavistock

We have a large en-suite room available in our home at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac about 7 minutes’ walk from the centre of Tavistock.

We're hoping to rent the room out for 3 months or more but we’ll consider short stays (2 nights minimum) as well.

We’re looking for someone mature who will respect our property. We’d prefer someone in full-time employment and we will check work references.

The room is not suitable for anyone working from home or working night shifts because of the fact that we have 3 dogs and 2 cats and I sometimes work from home.

Please note that we will ask for recent references from previous landlords.

We don’t allow smoking or vaping in the house but, if you smoke or vape, you are welcome to do so in the garden.

The room is available for single occupancy but, if you’re just looking for a very short stay (i. e. up to a week) we would consider a couple. The rental for long-term stays is £600 per month or, for short stays of up to 4 weeks, it will be £175 per week or £35 per night for stays of less than a week.

You'll have full use of the house which is furnished to a high standard and has a kitchen / diner, large living room, lovely conservatory and a sunny, secluded garden.

You’ll be sharing with two of us, one male and one female, plus our 3 dogs and 2 cats. We're not party animals but realistically, because of the dogs, there will be a bit of noise from time to time.

We are sociable, easy-going people and you will be treated as one of the family, but we also respect the fact that most people like their own space as well.

The room we’ll be letting out is large with its own en-suite shower room and toilet. The bedroom itself contains a double bed, a small built-in wardrobe, a freestanding wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a compact fold-up desk, a chair and a bookcase. There's also a TV in the room. We provide a duvet, pillows, bed linen and towels, but you're welcome to bring your own things if you'd prefer to.

The kitchen has a fridge freezer, a gas hob and electric oven, a microwave, kettle and toaster as well as a new washing machine. There are all the usual bits and pieces in the way of cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots and pans which are available for you to use at any time.

In addition to this, we also have Sky Q and broadband and all bills are included in the rent.

There’s not enough space to park a second car immediately outside the house but there’s parking further down the road on a first come first served basis.

Just so you know, we'd like to chat to a few interested people before we make a decision regarding renting out the room so we can be sure you'll fit in with us and our pets.

As you might already know, Tavistock has everything you'll need in the way of day-to-day shopping i. e. a bank (yes, we actually still have a bank in town) shops, supermarkets and restaurants, but if serious retail therapy is your thing, there's an excellent bus service to Plymouth and it's only about 15 miles if you drive there.
