Description
Seeking community-minded individual(s) to share our lovely home in Walkhampton . A double room will be available as our housemate is moving back to Greece.
IMPORTANT: Please read this ad fully before contacting me and think carefully about whether this is a good fit for you and for us also.
I unfortunately do not have capacity to respond to ads that just say "Is this available" without any information about who you are, your interests and why you think you are a good match. When the room is filled I'll delete the ad.
A car/ good bike (and strong muscles) would be important for living here - there's no shop in the village, no easy bus to town, big hills.
About the house:
Big garden, good sized sitting room and kitchen, wood-burning stove. The house has a solar and battery set-up and new double glazing. Some renovation bits ongoing so please forgive the less tidy aspects of that.
The room is upstairs so unfortunately not suitable for those that really struggle with stairs.
We have a greenhouse, veggie garden and flowerbeds and are slowly developing the garden. There's a firepit for communal use and potential use of the garden yurt at times.
Cracking views of nearby tors, local moorland 5mins walk away. 6 min drive to Burrator Reservoir.
I'm looking for people who are:
- sociable and interested in people
- clean and respectful. We have a cleaning rota and try to stick to it.
- open-minded
- kind and considerate
- enjoy some meals together
- LGBT+ friendly
About me:
I'm a 39 year old woman, work variably as a healer, storyteller, events organiser as well as a few other things. I love the outdoors, a good dance and seeing friends. I love to cook and laughter is important to me 🙂. Sharing with me is my partner Sky who is a very kind soul and works at home some of the week. Our good friend Ed has been staying in the yurt over the summer and may come again for periods in the winter. As a house we socialise together and often share meals. We have a sweet cat called Silva who enjoys her own space but is partial to belly rubs!
If you would like to know more, please message me telling me the following:
1) something interesting or unusual about yourself
2) why this specific house appeals to you?
3) what community means to you?
4) pls include the word 'peanuts' somewhere in your message
NB the room is furnished. Bills included. If a couple, rent would be higher to incorporate extra bills.
