The only other room up here is a home office, so you’d have a genuinely quiet, self-contained corner of the house to yourself — a rarity in a houseshare. The bathroom is technically shared but in practice almost always yours alone, as the family predominantly use the en-suite.
This one would suit a professional who either works from home or works out and wants somewhere peaceful to land at the end of the day. You’re in the Dorset countryside but far from cut off: a 15 minute walk into town, 10 minute walk to Tesco, the X8 bus stops right outside, with hourly services to Blandford and Poole, and there’s a dedicated parking space if you drive. Picture morning coffee on the large patio before work, or stepping straight out onto the trailway for an evening walk or cycle. There’s a big garden to enjoy too — vegetable patch, greenhouse, beautiful landscaping and plenty of room to sit out in summer. Fast, reliable internet runs throughout.
The household is a friendly professional woman who works mostly from home, her two children, and one very sociable cat. You’d share the living room, kitchen and dining area; the children have a separate playroom, so the communal space stays calm and grown-up. It’s a warm, welcoming home.
Rent includes all bills — no juggling utility accounts. We’d prefer a female lodger but open to conversations around this, and we’re open to a well-behaved pet (no cats, sorry — ours doesn’t share well), provided they’re good around children. Happy to arrange a viewing and a chat whenever suits.
