Your Room:
Spacious (25 square metres) bedroom with wooden floors and large rugs. King-sized bed, desk, sofa, coffee table and bookshelves. Bedside tables, chest of drawers, hanging rail, chair, lamps, mirror, kettle and toaster. Well furnished but uncluttered. Bedding can be provided if required. Modern bathroom shared with one other person.

Location & Transport:
15-minute walk to Bournemouth University and the train station. Five minutes by bus to the beach and town centre. Adjacent to Queens Park Golf Course and public park. Walking distance to Castlepoint shopping centre and gym. Close to Charminster’s restaurants and nightlife. Unrestricted on-street parking plus off-road option. Secure bike storage.

Facilities:
Superfast broadband. Well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, coffee machine, juicer and Magimix. Upstairs utility area with washing machine, additional fridge and microwave. Peaceful garden. Garage with storage space. Weekly cleaning of communal areas.

About the House:
This is a calm, clean and sociable household — we’re busy professionals who value routine and respect one another’s space. We run a vegan kitchen, meaning no cooking of raw meat or fish on the hob or in the oven. However, we’re relaxed about omnivore takeaways, ready meals, deli items and cold foods. There is also a separate fridge and microwave upstairs for non-vegan items, so you won’t feel restricted. The house is smoke-free — not from judgement, simply personal preference for our shared environment. Two friendly resident cats complete the household.

Best Suited To:
We’re ideally looking for someone who is out during the week — a full-time working professional or postgraduate student (not undergraduate, sorry) who works on site rather than from home. Ideally aged 25–50. Bonus points if you enjoy the outdoors — the beach, parks and coastal paths are all nearby. We find it works best with someone who has an active, independent lifestyle and perhaps a family or home base they visit at weekends — essentially someone who appreciates a comfortable, peaceful room to return to but is not at home all day. We’re sociable and enjoy a chat, but we equally value quiet time.
