Fabulous, peaceful, spacious home

We have a gorgeous, large, period home - with two adorable cats! -and we have a lovely bright, light double bedroom with a spacious ensuite to let out - (£750). It is currently being used as a sitting room so the pictures don't do it justice. At present it has a huge sofa in it but we are renovating the room and it will be beautiful! The room looks out over wonderful shared gardens and orchards. It has two large sash windows and a tall ceiling. There is an inbuilt cupbaord and we will furnish the room with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk etc and will be buying a new double bed. The shower room has a strong power shower and is also light and both rooms are furthest from the rest of the house. We have a large kitchen with an Aga, a hob, a microwave and all mod cons - a relaxing orangery and there is also a large, heated swimming pool amongst the trees. There is off road parking for your car.

Barcombe is a friendly, happy village - 3 mins walk to a good shop and has a lovely, friendly pub with good food. It is 3 miles north of Lewes but ti would be essential to have a car. We are about 10 mins drive to Lewes, 25 mins drive to Brighton and to Haywards Heath.

Cooksbridge train station is 5/6 mins drive - the train takes 55 mins to London, 30 mins to Gatwick and 20 mins to Haywards Heath, or going south, it is 5 mins to Lewes and on to Brighton is another 10/15 mins.

Lewes has many choices of trains and is also a very loved, gorgeous little town full of of great restaurants, a castle and lots of independent shops and cafes. It takes 10 mins to drive to Lewes and about 20/25 to Brighton which is a thriving seaside city with universities, theatres etc

The sea is close, the South Downs are all around us - lovely walks, pubs, Charleston, Glyndebourne, Lewes and Brighton Festivals and easy access to Gatwick and London.

This would suit a professional person who enjoys lovely surroundings and countryside, wishes to feel independent in a large house but with a homely, relaxed atmosphere. We are happy for you to work from home one or two days a week. There are always people around us as there are properties close by. We have fast, fibre optic broadband and there are no additional bills for you to pay.

We are a couple - informal, working in the arts - and have a relaxed home, which we have enjoyed sharing with our previous lodgers.
