Description
A friendly, welcoming house in a quiet, unique residential street in Hove offers a light, airy, spacious double bedroom
The bedroom is east facing, with some basic furniture. It has good storage space and shelves and is a very quiet space in the house.
The house itself is part of a very old, landmark street in Hove. The kitchen isn't extremely modern but it is fully equipped (pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc) and is very regularly the focal point for the social aspect of the house, (we like cooking)
Would really suit a foreign student (I'm multi-lingual and an English Teacher) available for single occupancy (£600 per month). Unfortunately, due to the size of the kitchen/shared facilities, we aren’t able to consider couples.
The new Tenant would also be expected to share the household bills:
Typical bills per month/per resident (based on one person occupancy):
Gas £40 per person
Electricity £30 per person
Broadband £10 per person
Council Tax £54 per person
Water £17 per person
TV License £5 per person
The room is available from around the 17th of June and we're organising viewings over the next few weeks.
We are not excessive about cleanliness, but we do expect a new tenant to play his/her part in maintaining good hygiene in communal areas (kitchen and bathroom).
A little information about the tenants who will be remaining in the house. I’m David, the ‘lead tenant’, an English language teacher who works from home teaching international students. I consider myself calm and easy-going, as is our other tenant, Lilly, who occupies the upstairs part to our property, a social care worker.
I would say that both of us are quite independent, so it wouldn’t be fair to describe the house as having a party atmosphere, but we are both engaging and appreciative of the support that people living together can offer each other: we consider ourselves a happy, friendly household, and there are absolutely no restrictions on applicants that we would consider, although no pets are allowed.
If you are interested in the room, please let us know and we will arrange a day/time.
Using previous experiences as a guide, we are expecting a lot of replies. We will reply to everyone, but please bear with us as we organize the viewings, as it’s always a little complicated.
We look forward to meeting you, and who knows, maybe you are our next housemate!!
