Double room by Ashdown Forest – peaceful cottage

Furnished double room available in my cottage in Nutley, literally a few steps from Ashdown Forest.

It’s a small, comfortable and relaxed home rather than a large house, with shared use of the living room, kitchen, bathroom and garden, plus parking.

I’m freelance and am away quite a lot, so although this is my home, in practice you’ll often have plenty of space and time to yourself. My daughter and partner also stay occasionally. My daughter is in her twenties, so someone who enjoys a relaxed, fairly youthful and informal household would probably feel most at home here.

The room would particularly suit a friendly, independent working person looking for a peaceful rural base for around 6–12 months — for example someone working locally, on a contract, relocating or between homes. I may be open to a longer rental if it works well for both of us.

Own transport is essential. Nutley does have buses, but realistically a car is needed for everyday life here.

£650 per month, consisting of £500 rent plus £150 bills (towards council tax, electricity and heating). Wi-Fi included. £500 deposit.

I’m looking for someone friendly, considerate and easy-going who’d like to make the cottage their home for a while. I’m pretty relaxed and independent myself, so hopefully it would feel like an easy, comfortable house-share for both of us.

A well-behaved small dog could work and a cat is also possible.
