The room is for one person only, on the first floor, sunny and with a lovely view over the garden and trees beyond. (You can access the garden.) It has just been redecorated and contains a double bed, lots of storage, a desk and chairs.
The bathroom – recently rebuilt - is not for you exclusively but I use it very little.
The kitchen is a good size and has space for eating. I am a vegetarian and there is to be no meat or fish cooked here.
No-one else lives here and it is a tidy, quiet and organised home.
Heating, broadband and all utilities are included, along with Council Tax (Band D). Limited use of the sitting room and use of the washing machine are by negotiation.
Street parking is always available. Parking on the drive may be possible for a small car.
Access to the main roads through Chelmsford is very easy. You can walk or cycle into the centre of Chelmsford, to the ARU, the station. Buses pass at the end of the road.
This property is not suitable if you will want to spend a lot of time in the house. The agreement will come to an end 30th June 2027, although it may perhaps be renewable.
I am happy to consider part-week or short-term agreements.
PLEASE NOTE: this is not a shared tenancy or a house share. It is an excluded licence, a periodic agreement. This means it is my own home and the room is available to someone suitable who is happy to accept my conditions.
I am not looking for a flat mate or a companion. I have a spare room I am offering to you if you are responsible, reliable, trustworthy, quiet, employed or studying and clean and tidy. I have a busy life and work varied hours and days. I have welcomed lodgers regularly over the last 25 years and also spent time as a lodger in others’ homes.
If I think you may be suitable, I will get back to you within 3 days.
