HOUSEHOLDER
A lovely lady in her 80’s lives in a 2 bedroom ground floor flat in Edgware, London.
The lady is already surrounded by a great support network within her daughter and has carers 4 times a day. The lady is joyful, is very down to earth and really enjoys having company. The lady has poor mobility and uses a walking frame and is mostly housebound. Though she has poor mobility she can make her way around the flat but is unable to stand for long periods of time. The family would be greatly reassured by having someone living in house for overnight security.
The morning carer comes for an hour to wash up breakfast, make her bed, shower and dress her. The lunch time carer comes for 30 mins to help her with lunch and clearing up after lunch. The lady has an afternoon nap, after which a carer comes for 30 mins, helps with general chores and making the bed. Finally an evening carer for 30 mins to help her evening meal and then getting her ready for bed, curtains, bedding and chores.
The lady enjoys watching cultural TV shows, news, and nature programmes. She has recently discovered colouring and finds this enjoyable and therapeutic. She is currently enjoying learning new colouring techniques that she has been taught and has beautiful completed pieces of work displayed. With encouragement/guidance she will take part in light exercise.
She is attracted to Homesharing as she likes the idea of having an extra presence in the house who is able to offer some support to her, and the reassurance to her family with the overnight presence and some companionship.
The ideal homesharer would be female, speaks English, would be advantageous if Gujarati or Hindi speaking.
Ideally someone who can help re-heat home cooked pre prepared Indian meals, and if cooking something delicious then she would be happy to taste.
Someone who is tech savvy, is happy to grab occasional shopping item/s is able to accompany to the communal hall when gathering, must learn how to operate the wheelchair safely.
Someone who is clean and tidy, has patience, is reliable and considerate, sociable and has a positive attitude. Who can offer some companionship at times.
Applicants must be non-smokers and pets are NOT allowed at the housing complex.
Would suit an individual interested in offering some light support to an elderly woman.
