I have a single room to let 10-15 min walk from Kingston town centre. Not that you care but I want to say that it cost me a lot of work and money to prepare it. I've just painted and renovated the small room, which is for rent. I've also renovated the kitchen and bathroom with new shower enclosure, with new floor coming later. There is a private patio too. Currently there are works in my front garden.
The room size is 2.4m x 2.5m. For such a small room storage is excellent. There is a huge built in wardrobe to the ceiling which is 75cm wide, 89cm deep and 265cm high. Enormous. There is plenty of storage under the bed, big shelving cabinet and shelves on walls.
The rent is £650pcm + some bills. Deposit is £750 to cover 1 month rent and some bills. This means that to move in you would need £1400. How much are the bills? Gas & electricity is cheap during summer months but in winter it is more expensive. I usually pay about £75-£80, so your part for gas/electric should be around £40 a month. Re: water, they are putting me on monthly bills now but I expect to pay around £30, maybe more. In total this room should cost around £700, or just over, with bills. Internet is included.
The small room is available long term or short term, for a man.
