We are looking for a kind, reliable and responsible lodger to join a calm and friendly household in Orpington.

The room is in a well-located home:

15-minute walk to Orpington station

5-minute walk to the high street

£500 per month, all bills included

You would be sharing the home with:

An 86-year-old lady with dementia

One other lodger

Professional carers who attend daily (including weekends in the mornings)

About the role: This arrangement would suit someone who is compassionate and happy to provide some light support in the evenings and on alternate weekends.

This is not a formal care job, but you would be expected to:

Be a reassuring presence in the home

Help with simple meals (lunch/dinner outside carer times)

Sit with her occasionally

Keep a general eye on her wellbeing

Provide some support alongside the other lodger

Daytime care is covered by professional carers, so support is mainly evenings and some weekends.

About you:

Kind, patient and dependable

Comfortable around someone with dementia

Ideally with some experience in care (not essential, but helpful)

Looking for a peaceful home rather than a purely independent rental

This is a unique arrangement that would suit someone who values a quieter living environment and is happy to offer a little support in return for affordable accommodation.
