Description
Hello! We are looking for a new housemate for our leafy and calm Surbiton home as the current tenant is leaving. You’ll see a description below. Please bear in mind that we’re advertising for a housemate, not just a room to rent.
We would like to ensure that we can all live comfortably together and share a space which feels homely, safe and relaxing for us all.
The house:
Rent : £620
Council tax band: D
Bills, council tax and internet: Roughly £170-£200 at most per month per person
Available from 9th October 2026 (earlier move-in possible)
15-18 min walk to Surbiton station
Nearest supermarkets: There’s a Coop just around the corner. For larger shops we’ve got Waitrose, Sainsburys and M&S a bit further away.
Private parking on our drive
Garden (gardener’s welcome!)
3 bedroom, shared bathroom.
Storage space: There’s a lot of kitchen cupboard space, and a loft to put boxes and suitcases. There is also more storage space in other areas of the house, so you don’t have to keep everything in your room.
Who we are:
Sindre is a Norwegian filmmaker and music teacher currently pursuing his own business. For the most part, he's working on his business from home in the mornings and travels to his students' homes in the afternoons/evenings. He loves personal development and entrepreneurship.
Vee has a background in the visual arts and languages. Her day job is in sales and works from home 2 days out of 5. She trains in the mornings in the garden or in the gym, is usually either reading something in the garden or in the kitchen.
How we live:
Both of us work from home part of the time, the other part we’re outside. We take initiative to clean the apartment independently (i. e. counters, sink, sweeping) and especially after we’ve used a space.
We have a rota for larger spaces every 2 weeks.
We lead quite separate lives but often catch up in the morning or at dinnertime. You may hear music in the living room on occasion. Sindre sometimes invites his students for private lessons, and Vee sometimes has conference calls in the living room.
We sometimes invite friends/family round to stay over. We want this to be a home where everyone feels comfortable to do the same.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone easy-going, open and someone we can get along with, and who ideally wants to part-take in maintaining the house with us. Short-term rents are not desirable, and respect/love for the space is necessary. You don't need to have everything figured out in life (who does), but we are looking for someone mature, who knows how to take care of a home. Any shared interests in films, filmmaking, literature or entrepreneurship is welcome :-)
If you like the sound if this, we’d love to hear from you!
PLEASE NOTE AS LONG AS YOU SEE THIS AD THE PROPERTY IS AVAILABLE – NO NEED TO ASK.
WHEN GETTING IN TOUCH, PLEASE TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
