Description
Please note that I can only reply to those who have posted a full profile here and included a photo/s, to avoid false profiles. I am abroad for a while, so you will be sharing with a very nice, friendly and relaxed 36 year old Belgian girl, so prefer enquiries from females preferred. I speak English, French and Spanish and also some Greek, so feel free! The agreement would be a flexible lodger agreement with a short-term arrangement also possible. ALL bills and council tax (Band D) are included in the daily or weekly rental amount stated.
It’s the larger room that’s available. The house is a cute terraced worker's cottage from 1860, very cosy, bright, clean and tidy, with a quiet garden and a new accessible area on the roof (for the morning coffee). It’s in a very safe and friendly neighbourhood, with a great pub on the corner serving traditional British food. The street is in a very private location in a conservation area, very quiet, with great neighbours and close to everything; Kingston, Twickenham, Richmond, the river and three Royal parks. The area is a cyclist's, rower's and jogger’s dream!
The room is very quiet and private, overlooking the garden and is available for a single professional on a daily, weekly, monthly or longer-term basis.
Other info.:
Superfast fibre Cable TV and Wifi
Laptop-friendly workspace
Large and fully equipped kitchen and bathroom
Towels and linen supplied
Everything is steam-cleaned (floors, kitchen, bathroom, beds), avoiding chemicals.
A mountain or road bike are also available for you.
Area and Transport Links
It's a lovely area and a real South-East of England experience in Zone 6, within striking distance of central London (Wimbledon, Clapham (15 mins), Vauxhall, Waterloo (25 mins.). Richmond is three stops in the other direction by train, or by bus and there are regular buses to Twickenham. Putney Fulham and Chelsea are about 15 minutes by car (or there are buses from Kingston). The house is reachable by one bus direct from Heathrow Airport.
Kingston-Upon-Thames and the River are just around the corner, as are two Royal Parks and Hampton Court Palace in the other direction (King Henry VIII's palace that is, after he 'procured' it from Cardinal Wolsey in 1529. Naughty boy!).
The space
The house is very private and a charming and extensively renovated two double-bedroom terraced workers cottage of 1870, tucked away in a secluded cul-de-sac in a popular part of Teddington village, on the border with Hampton Wick, with Bushy Royal Park behind and close to excellent transport links into Central London (Waterloo is 25 minutes) and to Heathrow Airport (bus). My house has been rented previously for major London events, such as the Rugby World Cup (by the Captain of one of the Teams), the Hampton Court Flower Show and concerts at Twickenham stadium.
You will have full access to the whole house and garden. You will also have unlimited access to the great pub on the corner and to its huge garden terrace! General (later President) Dwight Eisenhower used to drink his beer in my road shortly before D-Day. There's a memorial to his men in Bushy Park, behind the house ...Worth a visit!
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions...
