Description
Rent one room or possibly the whole house (to discuss). The agreement would be a flexible lodger agreement with a short-term arrangement also possible and the price is negotiable for the right person. ALL bills and share of council tax (Band D) are included in the rental amount stated.
You will be sharing for a short time with a very nice, friendly, clean and relaxed French-Canadian woman, so enquiries from women only preferred. I am currently living in Greece and speak English, French and Spanish and also some Greek, so feel free to message or call if you have any questions.
The bedroom currently available is very quiet and private, overlooking the garden and is available for a single professional female on a short or longer-term basis. It’s the smaller, recently upgraded double room that’s available (hence the recent drop in price) with an option to take the larger room and possibly the whole house from late September. Please ask for more photos.
The house is a cute terraced worker's cottage from 1860, very cosy, bright, fully equipped, very clean and tidy, with a nice garden and bright areas to work from. It’s in a very quiet, safe and friendly neighbourhood with no passing traffic and a great community-owned pub around the corner, serving traditional British food. The street is in a conservation area, with off-street parking and close to everything; Kingston,
Twickenham, Richmond, LHR, Central London, the river and three Royal parks. The area is basically a cyclist's, rower's and jogger’s dream!
Other info.:
Superfast fibre Cable TV and Wi-fi;
Laptop-friendly workspaces;
Large and fully equipped kitchen and bathroom;
Towels and linen supplied;
Everything is steam-cleaned (floors, kitchen, bathroom, beds), avoiding chemicals;
A mountain bike and a road bike are also available for you to use.
Area and Transport Links: It's a lovely area and a real South-East of England experience in Zone 6 (South-West London) within striking distance of central London (Wimbledon, Clapham Junction (15 mins), Vauxhall, Waterloo (25 mins.). Richmond is three stops in the other direction by train, or by bus and there are regular buses to Twickenham (or use the bike!). Putney, Fulham and Chelsea are about 25 minutes by car (or there are buses from Kingston, as well as night buses back). The house is reachable by a fast bus (SL7) direct from Heathrow Airport in 25 minutes!
Kingston-Upon-Thames and the River are just around the corner, as are two Royal Parks and Hampton Court Palace in the other direction (King Henry VIII's palace that is, after he 'procured' it from Cardinal Wolsey in 1529. Naughty boy!). You're also 20 minutes drive from the countryside!
The space:
The house is very private and a charming and extensively renovated two double-bedroom terraced workers cottage of 1860, tucked away in a secluded cul-de-sac in a popular part of Teddington village, on the border with Hampton Wick, with Bushy Royal Park behind and close to excellent transport links into Central London (Waterloo is 25 minutes) and to Heathrow Airport (bus). My house has been rented previously for major London events, such as the Rugby World Cup (by the Captain of one of the Teams), the Hampton Court Flower Show and concerts at Twickenham stadium.
You will have full access to the whole house and garden. You will also have unlimited access to the great pub on the corner and to its huge garden terrace! General (later President) Dwight Eisenhower used to drink his beer in my road shortly before D-Day. There's a memorial to his men in Bushy Park, behind the house ...Worth a visit!
