Description
Looking for a housemate to fill a double bedroom with ensuite shower (students only for council tax purposes, ideally a postgrad student). Female housemate preferred as I am female myself.
Tenancy details:
- Move in date from 1st November 2025, flexible and can start later if needed (please ask)
- Tenancy end date for now is 31st July 2026, can be extended when the time comes
- Rent is £700 including bills, with a deposit of £700
- No pets, sorry!
- Current housemate is moving out by 31st October
About the room and surrounding areas:
The house is in a quiet area, near Ladybarn Park. Your room is a double bedroom with an ensuite shower, furnished with a desk, chair, wardrobe and bedside table (mattress protector included). I have my own bedroom, bathroom and office, so we each have our own private spaces while sharing the communal areas. The shared spaces are: the kitchen + dining area, living room, hallways, and back garden. The washing machine, dryer, fridge-freezer, airfryer, microwave and oven are available in the kitchen. I have a rice cooker which also functions as a pressure cooker that I am happy to share once I show you how to use it.
Outside there is free on-street parking if you drive, and bike storage is available in a locked shed. There are multiple shops for you to do your shopping nearby, including Tesco and Aldi Burnage + Co-op Ladybarn Village. Fallowfield and Withington are a 20 min walk away. There are various transport options including the A34/Kingsway, bus 50 (Salford Quays and city centre), bus 25 (Stockport, Chorlton, Stretford and the Trafford Centre), Mauldeth Road train station (8 min train to town and 15 min train to Manchester Airport), and East Didsbury tram stop (30 min walk away).
About me and what I'm looking for in a housemate:
I am currently doing a PhD in cancer biology, usually working in the lab during the day. I have various interests including fitness, travel, languages, and am now attempting to learn to play the guitar and crochet! I'm looking to make the house a space for intimate/chill hangouts with friends e. g. cooking together, art nights and movie nights.
I value a clean, safe and considerate living environment so I am looking for someone who's responsible, communicative and respectful of shared spaces. The ideal housemate for me enjoys a balance of friendly interaction and personal space: someone who's up for chatting and shared meals but also respects when we need quiet time for work/study.
If this sounds like the place for you, let's chat to see if we click, then we can arrange a viewing! References and right to rent check will be required.
