Description
Hi there :)
About me:
As my current flatmate is moving out, I'm looking for someone new to join the tenancy. I work full-time in the public sector: mostly in office but WFH 2 days a week. The new contract begins 21st December, though you're welcome to move in from the 5th December, as my flatmate is leaving a bit earlier.
The room:
Kinda on the smaller side (hence the lower price 👀), has a double bed and en-suite, alongside (not pictured) a wardrobe and a desk. It’s bigger than it looks, with space for storage and small items of furniture.
Bills are split 50/50, which includes high-speed Hyperoptic Wi-Fi. Costs vary depending on the season though I try to keep them low (my ugly dressing gown does the heavy lifting in winter…)
Deposit is 6 weeks' rent, so roughly £774 (when split by room rent)
Per person it’s approx (per month):
Council tax - £121
Electricity - c. £55-58
Internet: £15
Water is paid every 6 months and is about £160 per person.
Other stuff:
The building itself is in a central location, a short walk from both Salford and Manchester City Centre. The area is nice and quiet, too.
There are some small supermarkets nearby (including an amazing Korean market!) plus a gym and sauna downstairs. Parking is available for residents on an ad-hoc basis, but there are paid parking spots nearby too. We're also near HOME and Odeon, so it's a great spot for cinema fans :)
The flat has a standard kitchen: washing machine, oven and microwave are included alongside a small fridge, but you can bring small appliances if needed. Decorations for the front room are more than welcome! :)

What I'm looking for:
Someone easygoing, friendly and respectful who likes to keep things tidy. If we have similar interests (movies, books, quizzes, history, geeky stuff) that's a bonus, though I I’m introverted and on the quiet side so not specifically looking for a new best friend. If you have a lot of hobbies and social stuff going on outside the house, that’s fantastic (and I can recommend some excellent restaurants and bars)!
Outside work, I'm usually bingewatching classic TV shows, reading, going to the cinema/theatre, or meeting friends for a drink/quiz.
I would like the flat to feel warm and cosy - a space for both of us to recharge and rest - so I’m looking for someone similarly minded, who will help to keep things tidy and relaxed. I'm a bit of a granny and my partying days are over… though I’m not averse to an after-work yap! I plan to add some cute stuff to the living room, so you’re welcome to help decorate!
Council tax band D.
If you'd like to arrange a viewing or have any questions (because I'm sure I've missed a few things!) feel free to message :)
