Description
Single room to rent in 2 bedroom, spacious, ground floor flat
Would suit postgraduate student or professional, late 20s/30s/40s
I am a professional but will be studying for a Masters degree this year.
Hulme/Old Trafford area of Manchester
Good bus links into city centre and south Manchester, can also walk into town (approx 30-40 mins).
Bedroom: single bed, wardrobe space, small chest of drawers, desk space
Bathroom with shower over bath
Kitchen with oven, hob, grill, microwave, washing machine, fridge & freezer
Open plan kitchen & living room
Bike: sorry no space for an additional bike (unless you are happy to lock it up outside).
Communal grassy area at the back of the property
Gated car park and on-street parking with permit
Cat: I have a little cat called Kiki, so would not suit somebody who is allergic or does not like cats.
Kiki would benefit from being looked after during times I am away (doesn't need a lot, just feed & let her in/out, she barely even uses the litter tray) - but full instructions can be discussed.
Christmas 2025: I will be away for a few days & a couple staying to look after the cat/flat - so we can make arrangements for this or sleeping arrangements if necessary
Council tax: usually £170 pcm but I will confirm this e. g. if you are a postgrad student you may be exempt
Deposit: I ask for a £200 deposit and £22.80 fee to cover the cost of a reference check.
Accessibility:
Ground floor flat, step-free access, wheelchair accessible inside the flat (slightly wider doorways & lower light switches), although entrance doors to the building are quite heavy so if in a wheelchair I imagine they'd be quite hard to open.
Manchester is a great place with something for everyone. Lots of museums, local history and places to visit. Nearby National Trust sites e. g. Tatton Park and Dunham Massey. Also accessible to the Peak District if you enjoy longer walks or hikes e. g. Mam Tor, Stanage Edge & Kinder Scout.
About me: I normally work as a physiotherapist in a hospital, but this year I will be doing a Masters degree in London. I'll be living in Manchester & commuting there for a few days at a time every couple of weeks or so.
I'm quite chatty & friendly, I like to include people. I sometimes have friends around for meals and you are welcome to join :-)
I enjoy sports and the outdoors, although a bit limited just now due to a dodgy hip.
I like to try and keep my flat clean & tidy, but equally am pretty easy going if things aren't perfect.
Not gonna lie, I am a bit of a geek - I am hopeful this will work in my favour whilst I am studying this year!
I like coffee, travelling, food, films & documentaries, seeing friends, meeting new people.
I look forward to meeting you and seeing if you would like to live here!
