Description
All inclusive room available from January 16th in our warm, creative house. Becca 43, my partner Joe 43, Mike 76 (who I inherited along with the house from my gran), Mollie 27 and 2 cats, Chipple & Catkin (the fluffy lap cat) are looking for a new lodger in Whalley Range M16.
If I missed you in the last round and you're a female professional, please get back in touch. Our recent lodger Jonah is moving out after a trial because our schedules are incompatible (regular night work).
We have a bit of a shared social culture (Mollie is a great cook and I often have a soup on the go) where age doesn't matter much (Joe and I are young for 43 and like an occasional night out dancing), so it's important to me that any applicants who are in their 20's have a wide (age) range of friends themselves.
The room is fully furnished (with finishing touches) to suit you. The right person will care about working together to keep our home nice. Small double room (includes a small double bed with storage) overlooking the garden available from mid January. The room can be further furnished to suit your needs (additional storage, desk, table, artwork, more shelves etc). The mattress is new. There is some storage elsewhere in the house. There's plenty of fridge and freezer space for you. Smoking is outside, if you smoke.
I'm a jeweller and I make vegan cheese (Becca) and I work from home which is sometimes noisy so our house would not currently suit someone who works from home full time.
The house is around 18 degrees (or higher) day and night. We tumble dry most washing all year round in the outhouse (because it's better for the house and our health). I'd be happy to install a clothes airer outside if you’d like to use it in the warmer months. Joe is our resident builder and is slowly working on turning this house into my dream home. Most recently we've been working on the patio at the back and a built in garden sofa to catch the last of the evening sun. Next it's a garden workshop for me).
Mike (76 years old and gay), is an eccentric artist and painted most of the abstract paintings in the house. Mollie works at a creative agency in town, she's lived here 12 months so far and plans to stay long term :) .
Neither Joe or I eat meat but Mike does. Rent is inclusive of all bills and a few extras like Netflix, a cleaner (for deeper cleaning) and household basics like toilet roll, soaps and detergents. Historically this has always been a family home and long term lodgers were like family. We're not perfect but we try to keep the house nice all the time and don't leave little jobs for later if we can help it. If you're green fingered there's space to build a couple of small veg beds in the South-West facing garden.
I sometimes host fortnightly pot-luck meals for friends. Our open plan kitchen is ideal for hosting small social gatherings. My dream is Spanish style entertaining (but not ending late).
Rent is £580 per calendar month. 2 weeks money upfront will secure your room, then the firsts months rent would be due on move in day, then monthly after that.
I look forward to hearing from you if you think you might be a good fit.
