Description
All inclusive room available from June 1st in our warm, creative house. Becca 43, my partner Joe 44 (pictured with me), Mike 76 (who I inherited along with the house from my gran), Corrine 48 and 2 cats, Chipple & Catkin (the fluffy lap cat) are looking for a new lodger in Whalley Range M16.
We have a bit of a shared social culture -Corrine is a keen baker and great cook, specialising in West Indian dishes and I often have a soup on the go :). To us age doesn't matter much (Joe and I are young for our age and like an occasional night out dancing), so it's important to me that any younger applicants have a wide (age) range of friends themselves.
The room is fully furnished (with finishing touches) to suit you. Mollie (28) the current tenant is getting a place with her boyfriend after 16 months here. The room has changed much for the better since the photos were taken, with the addition of a really nice vintage handmade wooden desk/dressing table, wardrobe and rattan headboard. The blinds are blackout blinds. The room also comes with a hammock and fairy lights.
The right person will care about working together to keep our home nice. There is some storage elsewhere in the house. There's plenty of fridge and freezer space for you. Smoking is outside, if you smoke.
I'm a jeweller and I make vegan cheese (Becca) and I work from home which is sometimes noisy so our house would not currently suit someone who works from home full time.
The house is around 18 degrees (or higher) day and night. We tumble dry most washing all year round in the outhouse (because it's better for the house and our health). I'd be happy to install a clothes airer outside if you’d like to use it in the warmer months. Joe is our resident builder and is slowly working on turning this house into my dream home. Most recently we've been working on the patio at the back and a built in garden sofa to catch the last of the evening sun.
Mike (76 years old and gay), is an eccentric artist and painted most of the abstract paintings in the house. Corrine plays and coaches netball, Joe is an a keen mountain biker and we also all like going to the gym.
Neither Joe or I eat meat but Mike and Corrine do. Rent is inclusive of all bills and a few extras like Netflix, a cleaner (for deeper cleaning) and household basics like toilet roll, soaps and detergents. Historically this has always been a family home and long term lodgers were like family. We're not perfect but we try to keep the house nice all the time and don't leave little jobs for later if we can help it. If you're green fingered there's space to build a couple of small veg beds in the South-West facing garden.
I sometimes host fortnightly pot-luck meals for friends. Our open plan kitchen is ideal for hosting small social gatherings. My dream is Spanish style entertaining (but not ending late).
Rent is £680 per calendar month. 2 weeks money upfront will secure your room, then the firsts months rent would be due on move in day, then monthly after that.
I look forward to hearing from you if you think you might be a good fit.
