I am looking to rent 1 room in my house which is incorrectly marked as a flat.
IMPORTANT. If you need to work from home there will be a surcharge of £5 per day that you are home (max £25 per week) to cover extra drain on utilities etc.
I have 2 very large double rooms for rent in a lovely clean (very clean) quiet house which has a lot of first class fittings and fixtures. Room 1 is taken, room 2 is available.
Room 2 - has its own comfy armchair and small dining/desk in the room. Large double bed, double wardrobe and 2 sets of chest of drawers for storage. The room has modern laminate flooring but I can provide rugs if you wish. Exclusive use of large downstairs shower bathroom or if you are female you can share the virtual ensuite with the other female lodger.
As a Lodger you will benefit from a house that has been massively refurbished and redecorated. You will get your own double bedroom. Newly decorated bedroom with furniture which includes Double Bed and Mattress, Double Wardrobe, chest of drawers and side cabinet and new laminate flooring as well as shelf unit. The house has full central heating and a large garden as well.
Shared modern kitchen with new electric oven and gas hob for cooking as well as new Dishwasher and Washing machine/tumble dryer. The house benefits from unlimited broadband.
House also benefits from a large rear garden and easy on street parking.
The nearest station is Hertford East which is 1.6 miles away (25 minute walk) or 6 minutes away if you jump on the bus stop opposite the house.
You can also go to Hertford North to Kings Cross/Moorgate but this is 2.4 miles away and again get the bus down into town.
Strictly no Smoking of ANYTHING including Vaping, sorry.
I am 50+ years old with a young mindset and as an ex club DJ have an awesome vinyl collection! I am not looking for a house mate that's going to want to use this house as a party base though, I'm looking for someone who is quiet, CLEAN (VERY IMPORTANT), considerate and friendly. If you like getting drunk and then can't control your behavior this will likely result in a swift bye-bye, and yes I do like a drink now and again myself.
I will cover all utilities including gas, electric and water (provided you are not using in excess of other occupants) and council tax plus broadband usage. House doesn't have a landline or a TV license which means no BBC iPlayer sadly as I don't watch mainstream TV.
The room is available now, if you need to give notice please note I can't hold without a vacant deposit. If you want to view please read the next paragraph as it’s the criteria you will need to meet.
Lodgers in full time employment preferred please or Students on an Internship with GSK, checks will be carried out.
Please note, credit check will be carried out to not waste each other’s time and by bending the truth as the checks will show up. If you have a criminal record or county court judgements regrettably I will not be taking your application further.
