Double room in an old cottage, close to Cowes

Double room available between Cowes and Newport on the Isle of Wight. We are two miles from St Mary’s Hospital and two miles to Cowes. The no. 1 bus stop is 250 meters away. There is a footpath from the property allowing cycling to either destination. The Red Jet fast passenger ferry leaves from Cowes to Southampton. Cycles are permitted on the passenger ferry.

We are a married couple, looking for one employed occupant. The hospital is close, so too the sailing industry. We have had various professionals and digital nomads staying with us, as well as tourists, resulting in ‘Superhost’ status on Airbnb.

We have a large German Shepherd dog. He’s very friendly, although he likes to ‘guard’ us all on the landing at night so remember to switch on the light.

We are two professionals in the NHS. My wife works at St Mary’s, whilst I work in London. We both occasionally work from home. The internet speeds are excellent, allowing us all to stream/Teams call whenever we like.

The property is an old stone cottage, with outer-brick, in a very rural and quiet location. I have refurbished the property including new double glazed windows and new central heating system. It has a modern rebuilt kitchen and bathroom, with several living areas so each of us have space to relax. There is also a garden with several relaxing areas for entertainment with friends.

The room is redecorated and re carpeted, with a double bed, soft chair, and table and chair. Short-term is considered with rent adjusted for period of stay. References are preferred - the most important aspect is working status and respect. I rent a room in London and understand being both a renter, and letter. I’m respectful as either and I would like someone who is also. I have had poor experiences in both situations and know how important it is to be respectful.

When at home, I’m a musician and my wife cooks international cuisine. We’re happy to share our interests, and equally happy to let you be reclusive if you like.

With the season now beginning, we are often exploring the island and the Solent, cycling, kayaking, or sailing with friends. If your’e new to the island, there is a lot to do. The Medina estuary is a 15 minute walk away, and Gurnard beach is a 15 minute cycle.
