An older gentleman with ME and reduced mobility is seeking a Sharer for his home to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

He would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around his home in the evenings and overnight. He would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking up to four meals each week, light cleaning and tidying, carrying heavier items, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed. Please note there is a small dog.

The accommodation on offer is a double bedroom, furnished with a double bed, sitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and garden.

The property is on St Mary’s Island in Chatham Kent, very close to the University of Greenwich Medway Campus, and just 15 minutes’ drive from Rochester Station, and 10 minutes’ drive/30 minutes’ bus to Chatham Station.

The gentleman is very friendly and easy-going. He enjoys gardening, watching wildlife documentaries, playing games on his computer, going for ‘walks’ on his scooter, and his small dog.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of practical help plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker.
