Description
Large, well-equipped house share on Cavendish Road with ALL bills included. (MULTI ROOM/OFFICE DISCOUNT) 4 Floors
The property is currently operated as “Cavendish Cat and Gaming House” on Airbnb and Booking. com, where you can find more photos of the property. The plan is to close the short-term accommodation and move towards having a small number of longer-term, independent lodgers who can properly treat the house as their home.
The house is very well equipped and has far more communal space and facilities than a typical house share:
Sky 5 Gigabit internet
Sky TV and Multiroom
Council tax included
Gas, electric, water and internet included
3 fridge/freezers, so plenty of personal food storage
Large basement
Projector/cinema room with Xbox Series S
Separate games room with PS5 and TV
Gaming PC
Arcade machine
Living room, currently used as an office but changing back to a communal living room
Fully equipped kitchen
Indoor/outdoor cats with their own cat flap
On-site handyman, so if something breaks or needs attention, most issues can be dealt with very quickly
I’m also completely open to somebody taking two or more rooms at a discount. For example, you could have a bedroom plus your own separate office, gaming room, dressing room or additional private space.
I’m flexible with the house itself too. If somebody is planning to stay long term, I’m happy to discuss furniture, décor, room layouts and other reasonable changes to make the space work for everyone living here.
The most important thing for me is cleanliness and consideration for everyone else in the house.
This will suit somebody who is naturally clean and tidy rather than somebody who needs reminding to clean up after themselves. I keep the house clean and would like everyone living here to have the same attitude.
That means cleaning as you go, washing and putting away pots and pans rather than leaving them in the sink, wiping down the kitchen after cooking, not allowing belongings to build up in communal areas, keeping your own room and personal hygiene to a good standard, and generally leaving shared spaces ready for the next person to use.
I’m not looking to constantly remind adults about basic cleaning or tidying. If you know you are naturally messy, regularly leave washing up until later or tend to spread your belongings throughout communal areas, this probably won't be the right house for you.
On the other hand, if you're naturally clean, shower regularly, tidy up automatically and respect shared spaces without having to think about it, you'll probably find this a very easy and enjoyable place to live. There shouldn't be arguments about cleaning because everyone should already be on the same wavelength.
The aim isn't to have loads of restrictive house rules. Quite the opposite. I want responsible adults who can largely look after themselves, enjoy the facilities, come and go as they please and treat the property as their own home while respecting the other people living here.
I'm on site and I'm also a handyman, so there's the added benefit that if something goes wrong with the property, I can usually fix it myself rather than waiting days or weeks for a landlord or contractor.
I'm looking for people who want somewhere comfortable, clean and well-equipped to live longer term, rather than the constant turnover of short-term guests.
Viewings welcome.
