Rooms at Oxcombe – a temporary countryside escape

I have two furnished rooms available at Oxcombe, our family estate in the Lincolnshire Wolds: one double and one twin. I’m looking for someone in their twenties or thirties who might enjoy spending between one and three months or so living and working here (so not ongoing).

Oxcombe is a lovely place to live, surrounded by beautiful open countryside but with plenty happening around the estate. We have pottery studios and lots of arts and crafts happening, alongside farming, conservation and various other projects. There are some excellent pubs nearby, and the market towns of Horncastle and Louth are both nice and within easy reach.

You would be sharing the house with me. I’m 29 and split my time between working on the family estate and running Sluzzle, the health company I founded. I’m fairly busy and independent, but friendly and happy to share the occasional meal or trip to the pub. I’m looking for someone with a similar balance: comfortable doing their own thing, but also happy to be part of the household.

The house has a shared kitchen and several shared bathrooms. There is plenty of space, and we can create a suitable desk or office area if you work remotely. Internet is through Starlink and works well. The house is centrally heated and comfortable, although it is a large old country house rather than a modern, perfectly insulated flat.

Rent is £800 per month including bills, with a minimum stay of one month. A car is essential. Grantham station is around 1 hour 10 minutes away, from where the train to King’s Cross takes approximately an hour, so London can be reached in under three hours.

I also have a friendly dog, my Vizsla Swallow, so you would need to like dogs. Bringing your own dog may be possible on a case-by-case basis if it is friendly and likely to fit in.

It could particularly suit someone working remotely, between homes, completing a project or simply wanting a temporary change from city life.
