Local Amenities: the nearest supermarket is a Co-op (usually open 7am to 10pm), a large Sainsbury’s (usually open 7am to 10pm) and a Lidl (usually open 8am to 10pm). The main high street is only a 6-minute walk away with local convenience stores (including Morrison’s), takeaways, café, restaurant, dry cleaners and a lovely local pub (Abbey Arms) with a beer garden 😊. There is a fantastic café located near Lesnes Abbey.

Elizabeth Line: Abbey Wood is an Elizabeth Line terminus with direct train to Canary Wharf (11 minutes), Liverpool Street (17 minutes), Tottenham Court Road (23 minutes), Bond Street (25 minutes) and Heathrow airport (51 to 59 minutes).

Trains: Abbey Wood Station (Zone 4) with direct trains to London Bridge (27-31 minutes)/ Cannon Street (35 minutes)/ Waterloo East (37 minutes)/ Charing Cross (41 minutes)/ City Thameslink (38 minutes)/ Farringdon (40 minutes)/ St Pancras International (45 minutes). The DLR is two stations away and accesses London City airport.

Bus routes: There are also plenty of bus routes: 2-minute walk to bus stop with 177 or 180 (to Greenwich) or 177, 180 or 469 (to Woolwich) and B11, 96 or 422 (to Bexleyheath). N1 night bus from Central London which starts at Oxford Street.

Cycle routes: a 2km quiet cycle route with modal planters exists from Abbey Wood (Blithdale Road) to Plumstead (Gallosson Road) and Cycleway 4 from Woolwich to Tower Bridge with a connecting route to the City.

Roads: The A2 is nearby for access to Bluewater, and feeds into the M25 for access to Kent and Dover.

Local area: Close to Lesnes Abbey Woods nature reserve with the ruins of the 12th-century Lesnes Abbey, the ancient Bostall Woods & Heath (part of the South East London Green Chain Walk which is well worth exploring) and Southmere Lake. Bostall Gardens (2-minute walk) has tennis courts, Bostall Heath (15-minute walk) has a cricket pitch and a football pitch, Abbey Wood Park (8-minute walk) has a football pitch too and Abbey Wood Yoga (6-minute walk) offer yoga classes locally.
