An elderly lady with reduced mobility and dementia is seeking a Sharer for her home to give a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would primarily value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight. She has support from local family and friends, but she would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking / prepping a few meals, keeping an eye on the fridge, accompanying on short walks, helping change the bed sheets, light cleaning and tidying, communicating with family, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed.

The accommodation on offer is double bedroom with a single bed (truckle underneath so can be made into a double), fridge, desk and chair and built in wardrobe. The bathroom and kitchen are shared. The property has broadband and she is used to sharing her home having had lodgers.

The property is a very well-presented and tidy ground floor flat with communal gardens in an excellent location just 5 minutes’ walk from North Ealing Station (Picadilly Line) in one direction and West Acton Station (Central Line) in the other.

The lady loves her iphone and ipad, watching movies in Farsi, looking after her house plants, and her friends and family. Due to her dementia this would suit someone gentle, kind, patient and understanding with a regular routine; an Iranian Farsi speaker could work well too for clear communication.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
