Description

Looking for someone to take over a room in a friendly flatshare in Archway.

The housemates:
A 30 yo consultant from Brighton working in sustainability who enjoys films, sports of all kinds (particularly football and basketball), cooking and plays in an offensively inoffenisve indie band.

Also a 36 yo administrator from Canada who works at the Guardian, loves baseball/softball and travelling.

House vibe is very chilled and friendly with everyone enjoying eachothers company and a chat over dinner/tea, whilst very much having their own lives.

We're generally clean and tidy up after ourselves with a mostly informal understanding that everyone should do a proper clean of communal areas every so often.

The house:
The room is a spacious double on the top floor of a shared house in Archway. The house has a huge living room, a good-sized kitchen, 2 bathrooms (one of which one is an en-suite for one of the other rooms) and a nice sized garden. The flat is made up of the top 2 floors of a 3-story townhouse (bottom floor is a separate flat owned by the same landlord), and this room is on the top floor. Out front there is a private hangar for secure bike storage.

The place was originally only partially furnished so the leaving housemate will take some of their furniture (bed + cupboard will stay though). They may be willing to discuss selling or leaving various other bits to a new housemate (e. g desk, shelves, etc.). Equally, they'll take some of their kitchen gear and bedroom furniture, so there should be space for someone coming with a bit of homeware and/or furniture.

Bills usually end up at around £150 a month all in.

The location:
5 minutes from Archway station and 2 minutes from Upper Holloway overground station. 15-20 mins walk to either Finsbury Park or Hampstead Heath with a couple of smaller parks nearby. Pretty much anything you could need (supermarkets, gym, swimming pool, organic shops, etc.) is walking distance.

The landlord:
The landlord is really attentive, responds quickly and has a regular handyman nearby that organises all work/repairs pretty much right away. Contract is rolling month-to-month, and we've no reason to think there'll be any changes any time soon. Rent has gone up once (about +5%) in the last three years, but generally seems pretty stable.
