Description
ACCOMODATION
Room available on 29th November or before,, but I am happy for the right person to move in any time up to and including 1st January.
Small double room (9.75ft x 10 ft) available in characterful, furnished 2-bedroom garden flat. The bedroom is freshly decorated. It comes with a large, oak wardrobe, a small chest of drawers, and a single bed. However, if you have your own furniture or would like to buy a double bed for the room, then I am happy to just leave the wardrobe in there.
I’m out at work weekdays during term time. If you work from home more than 2-3 days a week, the bills are likely to be higher, and we might need to negotiate how we share extra gas/ electricity costs. A cleaner comes once a fortnight and is included in the monthly bills estimate, as are cleaning products, loo roll, etc.
The flat is located in a quiet area. Bus links are excellent, and it is about a 15-minute walk from Clapham South and Balham tube stations. Tooting Bec Common is a few minutes walk away.
There is storage space in the hall, plenty of kitchen cupboard space for you, and a tall bookcase in the hall which you can have as much as you like of. The kitchen looks out on the garden, the bathroom has a strong shower, and the living room is cosy, with a sofa-bed for occasional guests. The flat has central heating and a fireplace in the living room. It is so lovely having real fires in the winter! The garden is a little oasis- somewhere to sit and read, or have friends round for drinks or a BBQ.
CURRENT HOUSEHOLD/ WHO THE FLAT MIGHT SUIT
I'm a Christian in my mid-50s with one cat. I work as a teacher. I've rented this flat for 17 years and love it! The landlords are good. My recent flatmate moved out to buy a property, and my previous flatmate was here for 8 years.
The flat share would suit someone wanting a quiet and tidy home. I'm pretty quiet in the evenings after work, but enjoy chatting over a glass of wine or coffee at weekends if we are both home and feeling sociable.
The neighbours here are wonderful - including people in their 20s and 30s, young families, those of us a bit older, and a couple of recently retired people. It’s a real community.
I don't have a TV in the living room. My reasoning is that the living room needs to be somewhere we can both use at the same time, to read, relax, etc. I'd be happy to consider a TV if we only had it on when we were both happy with it, or when one of us was elsewhere. Of course you can put a TV in the bedroom.
Please get in touch if you'd like to chat on the phone and find out more, or come and see the flat.
