Description

Looking for a new flatmate from Nov 23rd - long term and preferably female. Details below!

The flat: I’ve lived here for a year now with one of my friends from school who is now going travelling and leaving the flat permanently. We’ve both really loved living here and I’d love to find someone great to replace him.

It’s a 2 bedroom flat, one bedroom (mine) is bigger and I pay a larger share of the rent (£1,065 pcm). The smaller room (pictured) for rent is £1,005 pcm. it has a double bed, a wardrobe and a small chest of drawers. We have a bathroom with a bath/shower and a combined living room kitchen space with a small dining table, sofa, and a TV. We have a large fridge / freezer. Share of bills (council tax, energy, water, internet, contents insurance) comes to roughly £141 each per month. Deposit is £1,182.69 and new tenant must earn more than £32,000 p/a or have a guarantor. Move-in date 23rd Nov.

The flat is small but it’s in very good condition and is very light and airy. The biggest draw is that the area is gorgeous. We’re about a 5 min walk from Hampstead Heath and 15 mins from the mixed ponds (which I love swimming in during warmer weather!) We live opposite the Stag which is a great pub and have lots of lovely other pubs nearby. M&S is just around the corner (though myself and previous flatmate usually do weekly food deliveries from Asda) We’re also very well connected, with Belsize Park (northern line, which runs at night on weekends) 10 mins walk away and Hampstead Heath overground around 7 mins walk away. Landlord operates through an agency who are great and very responsive to issues.

The flat probably wouldn’t suit someone who works from home most / all of the time just due to space constraints. I have a desk in my room which you’d be welcome to use when I’m not there (I wfh 2-3 days a week but am in the office the other days). My current flatmate works from home one day a week though and this has been fine - if I’m in he uses the kitchen table for working.

About me: I’m 30 years old and work as a journalist. I’m originally from Yorkshire and moved down to London two years ago for work.

I’d describe myself as very sociable and outgoing and would love to find a flatmate who is similar! As much as I do love a big night out / karaoke / too many wines every now and then I definitely find the hangovers more difficult than I used to and am also a big fan of wholesome fun: swimming outdoors, cooking, running, drawing / painting, going to galleries etc.

I’m often out of the flat on an evening and love a weekend away but do try to have one or two evenings in a week to just chill and would love a housemate I could hang with to watch telly / go for walks / pub / cook with when we’re both in! Myself and current flatmate have quite busy lives so we’ve found we get a nice balance between having the flat to ourselves and hanging out together.

As the flat is quite small it’s important to me to find someone I get along with, as well as someone who is very clean / tidy - the flat doesn’t take long to clean but it’s important to stay on top of it as it also looks messy quickly! Myself and my current flatmate have just operated on a system of both of us pitching in on cleaning whenever needed rather than a rota or whatever. I'm a vegetarian so it would be cool to live with another veggie/vegan though this isn’t essential.

I also have a boyfriend who stays over occasionally. My current flatmate has a partner too - so obvs totally cool if you do as well but we’ve tended to try and coordinate / let each other know our plans re partners or friends staying over generally as it gets very cramped with more than three people in the flat at once!

Essentially just looking for someone kind, tidy and fun to move in so please get in touch if you think you’d fit the bill!
