Description
My name is Celia—I'm a 31-year-old Canadian living in London. I'm looking for a new flatmate for my 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom in the Mile End / Bethnal Green area. Start date between January 25-February 1. Ideally would start with 3-4 months commitment just to make sure it's a good fit, then open it up to a longer term extension, but I'm open to discussing.
FLAT DETAILS
The rent is £1,250 per month not including bills (which in total are maybe £150 or so per month). The entire flat is 782 sq ft / 73 sq m. Council Tax band (Tower Hamlets) is E, and the EPC rating is a high C / 1 point away from a B so it stays quite warm in the winter.
The place is right on the canal (you can see the view in the photo—there's a small patio too) and a 5 minute walk away from Victoria Park. Lots of lovely shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby! Equidistant from Mile End and Bethnal Green stations (Central and District lines - about a 10 minute walk) with Cambridge Heath overground not too far as well.
You would take the room with the desk in the photos, and your bathroom would be the main one with the bathtub. The desk is mine—I would likely move it to the other room or the living room. The chest of drawers can either stay in the room or leave, depending on your preference. The place was originally unfurnished—there is no official closet space apart from this chest of drawers but we can rearrange the room as you like / get a closet in there! The bed currently in the room is collapsible into a single bed size and has under-bed storage.
ABOUT ME / AT-HOME VIBES
I'm looking for someone around the same age (around 28-35), woman-identifying, who is tidy and respectful :) I'm quite clean and because I intentionally furnished the place it's important that whoever moves in takes care of the furniture and appliances as though they were their own. I'm personally an introverted extrovert, so love socialising with friends but also appreciate some quiet / down time. It's a great place for hosting, so having friends over for dinner or throwing a party every so often is definitely on the table! And something I do (parties less often, maybe once every 2-3 months or so if that).
A bit more about me: I'm a service designer for a local council in London. I love theatre so I go see a lot of plays (mostly contemporary, not a big musical fan) and do a bit of acting myself. I'm also into film photography, films/cinema, road cycling, rockclimbing (I used to do more of this), and reading (mostly fiction). I enjoy travelling—I did a masters in urban studies where I lived in four different European cities over two years.
ABOUT YOU
If this looks good to you and the dates align, please send me a message with a bit about yourself! I'll likely schedule a call to chat first, then we can coordinate a viewing (I'm out of town until early January but can coordinate an in-person viewing before then with the current tenant if you like).
Depending on volume of responses I may not reach back out to everyone. If you ask for information already included in this post / if you don't include any details about yourself I will likely ignore your message, sorry!
